A quote from one of our staff members and what they consider their favorite Neuro-affirming best practices at Infinity. ♾
"Working in a neurodiverse-affirming workplace means being supported as a whole person, not squeezed into a rigid way of working. As someone who is neurodivergent, I do best with a mix of responsibilities; being able to shift tasks helps me stay engaged and energized. At the same time, I need enough structure and predictability to manage my day.
At Infinity, I’ve been able to create a workflow that balances both. There’s flexibility to try things out, make adjustments, and shape a role that actually fits my strengths. I’m not expected to fit a preset mold, which makes growth feel sustainable and authentic.
Supervision is also collaborative and flexible. I’m part of the process, not just following directions. For example, I’ve used real-time coaching during Floortime sessions with wireless headphones, and other times we adjust based on my capacity. That responsiveness makes a big difference.
Overall, it’s a workplace that genuinely adapts to me. My needs aren’t seen as barriers, they’re understood, and built into how I work. Because of that, I’m more engaged, effective, and satisfied in my role."
