So proud of my online client. 💛

She has overcome so much while continuing to show up and put in the work day after day.

Since we started working together, she’s learned the ins and outs of nutrition, increased her protein intake, took the leap and joined a gym, and has absolutely been crushing her workouts. All while navigating travel, a demanding career, home renovations, and the everyday challenges life throws her way.

The thing I’m most proud of isn’t the number on the scale. It’s the fact that she refuses to let life’s busy seasons become excuses. She continues to adjust, stay consistent, and keep moving forward toward her goals.

The result? She’s down 13 pounds since the end of February. 👏💪✨

This is what happens when you focus on building sustainable habits and keep showing up, even when things aren’t perfect.

And the best part? We’re just getting started. 🔥

Hi, I'm Sam 👋

There have been so many new faces around here lately, so I thought I'd take a minute to say hello and give you a little update on what's been going on with life and Schmidt Fitness!

I'm the owner of Schmidt Fitness, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Pre/Post Natal Certified Coach, Corrective Exercise Specialist, wife, mama to Addison, and currently expecting baby #2 🤍

I've been helping people build strength, lose weight, improve confidence, and create sustainable habits for nearly 10 years. What started as a passion for fitness has grown into a business and community that I'm incredibly grateful for.

Through Schmidt Fitness, I offer:

My goal has always been to help people find a realistic approach to fitness that fits their life, not takes over it. Whether you're a busy parent, working professional, beginner, experienced lifter, or somewhere in between, there's a place for you here.

As for life lately, we're soaking up every minute with Addison as she gets bigger by the day while also getting ready to welcome baby #2 to our family. It's a busy season, but one that I'm so thankful for.

On the business side, I'm currently taking on a limited number of new 1:1 training clients, Melanie Nicole and I are always excited to welcome new faces into our group fitness classes, and I have ONE remaining spot available for online coaching.

Whether you've been here for years or just recently found my page, thank you for following along and supporting this little business of mine. It truly means more than you know 🤍

EXCITING NEWS ✨🏖️☀️💪🏽

Mark your calendars because Schmidt Fitness is hosting our very first summer beach workout event and we cannot wait!!

Join us on Saturday, June 20th at 9:15AM at Phil’s Beach right here in Wauconda for a 45 minute full body workout led by and I designed to make you sweat, move, challenge yourself, and have FUN.

Expect:
☀️ Full body burn
🏖️ Beach vibes
💪🏽 All fitness levels welcome
☕ Complimentary specialty coffees, drinks, and goodies after class
🫶🏼 Time to hang out, connect, and kick off summer together

get up, get moving, and stop convincing yourself it has to be all or nothing 👏

This workout wasn’t perfect.It wasn’t super long.It wasn’t done in a quiet gym with zero interruptions.

But it WAS productive.It WAS effective.And it made me feel GOOD.

I got this workout done in 23 minutes with my daughter alongside me, then we went for a 30 minute walk while she happily ate breakfast on the go 😂

Would it have been easier to skip it? Absolutely. Especially being pregnant with my second while still chasing around a little baby. Some days I’m tired. Some days I’m overwhelmed. Some days motivation is nowhere to be found.

But movement matters to me. Not because I’m chasing perfection, but because of how it makes me FEEL.

Stronger.Clearer mentally.More energized.More like myself.

And honestly? I hope my kids grow up seeing that taking care of yourself matters too.

Will every day go according to plan? Nope. That’s motherhood. That’s life. Some days the workout is shorter. Some days it’s modified. Some days it’s just a walk. And some days it doesn’t happen at all.

But I’ve stopped believing the lie that if it can’t be perfect, it’s not worth doing.

You do not need the perfect schedule, perfect energy, perfect gym setup, or uninterrupted hour to make progress.

10 minutes counts.20 minutes counts.A walk counts.Moving your body ALL counts.

Let go of the idea that every workout has to be your hardest or best workout ever for it to be effective. Consistency over time will always matter more than perfection.

Mental health has no specific look.

Sometimes it’s not tears.
Sometimes it’s not someone asking for help.
Sometimes it’s not obvious at all.

Sometimes it’s the person who keeps showing up. The person smiling. The person cracking jokes. The person who looks “fine.”

One of my biggest “whys” behind what I do every single day goes far beyond workouts, weight loss, or physical results.

I lost my dad to su***de when I was 13 years old, and that experience changed me forever. It changed the way I look at people, the way I care for people, and the kind of environment I always knew I wanted to create one day.

Because of that loss, I’ve always carried this deep understanding that you truly never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. Some people carry pain so silently. Some people are fighting battles you would never see just by looking at them.

That is a huge part of why Schmidt Fitness means so much more to me than just a gym, workouts, diet, or the number on a scale.

Yes, we work hard here. Yes, we chase goals and push ourselves physically. But more than anything, I wanted to build a community where people feel welcomed, supported, encouraged, noticed, and cared about the second they walk through the doors.

A place where people can come as they are.A place that helps someone through a hard season.A place where confidence gets rebuilt.A place where movement becomes therapy.A place where someone feels less alone.

Fitness saved me in a lot of ways. Not because it made life perfect, but because it gave me an outlet, structure, purpose, strength, and connection during difficult times in my life.

So during Mental Health Awareness Month, I just want to remind you to be kind to people. Check on your strong friends. Invite someone in. Say hello. Encourage people.

You never truly know the impact you can have on someone’s life. 🤍
