Vista Health System is proud to support United Way of Lake County – Illinois’s Stuff the Bus initiative.

Our Vista team came together to donate school supplies to help local students start the school year with the resources they need to succeed. Each contribution reflects the generosity of our employees and our shared commitment to the community we serve.

❤️ Thank You to Our Donors!

Vista Health System extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in our July 21 Community Blood Drive. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and our partnership with the American Red Cross of Illinois, we exceeded our goal and helped strengthen the blood supply for patients who rely on lifesaving transfusions every day.

Together, we achieved:
🩸 25 units collected (Goal: 19)
👥 27 presenting donors
❤️ 19 Whole Blood donations
💪 6 Power Red donations
🌟 11 first-time donors

A special thank you to the American Red Cross for their continued partnership and to Culver's Restaurants of Waukegan for supporting this event by encouraging their team to donate and celebrating donors through their Pint for a Pint program.

Vista Health System was proud to join healthcare organizations, public health professionals, and local partners at the Live Well Lake County Steering Committee Meeting hosted at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

Together, we reviewed community health assessment (CHA) data, discussed opportunity gaps and the evolving health needs across Lake County, and participated in important conversations that will help shape the priorities for the next Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Collaboration is essential to building a healthier community. By working alongside our partners, we can better understand the challenges facing our residents and identify meaningful, community-driven strategies that improve health outcomes for everyone.

Wishing our community a healthy, fun, and safe 4th of July!

Vista Health System was proud to celebrate alongside our community during the annual Waukegan 4th of July Parade—continuing one of our favorite traditions of helping keep attendees cool and hydrated. Each year, our team looks forward to connecting with families, friends, and neighbors as we hand out water along the parade route.

Thanks to the support of our incredible team, we were able to help hydrate hundreds of community members while sharing in this special celebration.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Waukegan Park District for organizing such an amazing parade, as well as to the many volunteers and participants who helped make this a memorable experience for our community in celebrating Independence Day.

Thank you to our employees and volunteers who dedicated their time to represent Vista Health System. Your commitment to serving our community extends far beyond our hospital walls, and we are truly grateful.

Every day, Vista Health System has the privilege of witnessing compassion—not only from our physicians, nurses, and staff, but also from the patients, visitors, and community members we serve.

While visiting Vista Health System, Mrs. McIntosh noticed a fellow community member could use a helping hand. Without hesitation, she quietly stepped forward and paid the individual's co-pay so they could receive the care they needed.

Reflecting on the experience, Mrs. McIntosh shared a few sentiments:
"Pay it forward."
"Love helping people."
"I would do it again if someone was in need."

Vista Health System was proud to participate in the annual Summer Splash! at Waukegan Health and Rehab —a special event dedicated to bringing joy, laughter, and fun to residents and their families.

It was wonderful to see so many community partners and vendors come together to create a memorable carnival-inspired celebration. Our team was honored to engage attendees through a collaborative painting activity, inviting everyone to leave their mark on a one-of-a-kind artwork. The completed painting was gifted to Waukegan Health & Rehab as a lasting reminder of a day filled with smiles, creativity, and community.

Thank you to Waukegan Health & Rehab for the invitation and to everyone who helped make this event such a meaningful success!

Vista Health System extends our deepest sympathies to the Cunningham family, Mayor Sam Cunningham, and all who are mourning the loss of Dr. Mary Ross Cunningham.

Dr. Cunningham's lifetime of service, leadership, and dedication to the people of Waukegan and Lake County leaves a legacy that will be remembered by many. Throughout her years of public service, she worked to improve the lives of others and helped shape our community, which she cared for so deeply.

Dr. Cunningham was a longtime supporter of her community hospital and a dedicated advocate for the quality of life of all residents. Her leadership, service, and commitment to our community helped make a meaningful and lasting impact throughout Waukegan and Lake County. The positive influence she had on our region and the many lives she touched will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with the Cunningham family and all who loved her during this difficult time.
