Big Woods Soap Company Nature inspired, handcrafted soap I am a soap maker living next to the beautiful Big Woods Nature Preserve in Webster, NY. I choose materials that are reusable.

Inspired by my surroundings, I strive to use all natural ingredients. I grow and forage as many materials as I can, and partner with local beekeepers and gardeners to source as many local ingredients as possible. I avoid using animal fats and palm oils in my products, which can be a bit trickier, but worth it. My colorants come from nature - plants, clays, and oils provide my palate. Who knew that

the root of the Alkanet plant could create a beautiful purple? Or that the root of the Curly Dock W**d makes a lovely pink? I do like to create visually appealing soaps, and I am happy to rely on nature to create it. Scent is also plays a important role in my products. This too, is provided by nature in the form of pure essential oils. There is a virtually limitless number of combinations of scents to be had from nature, and I continue to seek new ways to provide aromatherapy benefits to my products. After creating my products, I package them carefully. I choose materials that are compostable. I avoid plastics. I try and minimize waste as best I can. I continue to learn every day. I continue to seek ways to partner with nature to create nourishing products in a way that is least intrusive to my natural surroundings. I am grateful to be able to share my creations to bring a little bit of joy through my products. Enjoy!
