Let’s talk TMJ in horses…

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is where the jaw connects to the skull. The jaw is closely connected to the poll, neck, and entire topline through fascia and muscle chains, so if the TMJ isn’t comfortable, the body will compensate somewhere else.

When this area is tight or inflamed, you might notice:

• Head tossing
• Uneven contact
• Resistance to bending
• Teeth grinding
• Sensitivity during bridling

PEMF can help support circulation, reduce inflammation, and relax tension in the jaw and poll muscles. I love pairing TMJ work with massage for a more complete release.

If your horse has been feeling “off” but you can’t quite put your finger on it, the TMJ may be worth looking at.

PEMF does not replace Veterinary care so please reach out to your wonderful Veterinarian or Equine Dentist to ensure there isn’t something underlying going on! We all want whats best for your horse and can work as a team!
