It’s kind of wild to sit back and realize how far this shoulder has come since my injury on December 7th and surgery on January 23rd. Now here I am — about 22 weeks post injury and 15 weeks post surgery — slowly easing into a new normal again.

The difference between now and those first few weeks after surgery is honestly incredible. I’ve regained a pretty decent range of motion, and thankfully the pain is mostly gone now. There are still moments where my shoulder reminds me healing is still happening, but overall I can finally feel real progress.

Now comes the part where I need to stay consistent and make more time for PT so I can keep rebuilding strength and mobility instead of slowing down just because I’m feeling better. Recovery is definitely still a work in progress.

Honestly, this season of year is my favorite. I LOVE being outside — tending to gardens, cutting grass, working in the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and just staying busy outdoors. It’s making me want to push myself even harder in this healing journey so I can fully get back to doing the things that bring me the most joy.

Little by little, I’m getting there. And after where I started back in December, I’m really grateful for how far I’ve already come. 🤍

I’ve been thinking about this since yesterday — watching social media fill up with beautiful Mother’s Day posts, celebrations, flowers, and so much love for moms. 🤍

And while I truly love seeing that… I also couldn’t stop thinking about the women who may have spent the day quietly hurting.

The moms grieving what could’ve been.
What should’ve been.
The babies they never got to hold.
The children they miss deeply.
The dreams that didn’t unfold the way they hoped.

Because motherhood is not always loud or visible.

Some women carry motherhood in their grief.
In their longing.
In the love they still hold for children no longer here or not yet here.

And maybe those mothers don’t always receive the recognition or tenderness they deserve on Mother’s Day.

So today, I just wanted to say:
To the moms carrying silent heartbreak — you matter too. 🌿

Your love is real.
Your loss is real.
And you are not forgotten here. 🤍

Mother’s Day is over… and now we’re back to the reality of almost-summer chaos. 🌷☀️

The house is messy again.
The laundry is behind.
The kids are counting down the days until no school.
And I’m over here wondering how moms are supposed to keep track of literally everything all the time. 😂

Some days I feel like I’m doing an amazing job.
Other days I replay everything I should’ve handled differently.

I’m not the perfect mom.
I get overwhelmed.
I get touched out.
I lose patience sometimes.
I say “just a minute” too many times.
I worry constantly if I’m giving enough of myself to everyone I love.

But my kids are loved. Deeply loved.
And I’m learning that maybe that matters more than doing motherhood flawlessly.

Maybe being a good mom isn’t about always getting it right.
Maybe it’s about showing up again the next day… softer, wiser, and still trying. 🤍

So if this season feels heavy, chaotic, emotional, exhausting, or just plain full right now… you’re not alone.

We’re all just figuring it out as we go. 🌿

This might sound controversial to some sourdough bakers… but did you know you can often use “discard” or unfed starter straight from the fridge or counter to bake bread? 👀🥖

Yep. Even that sleepy starter you forgot about for a few days still contains wild yeast and beneficial bacteria. It may not be at peak strength like a freshly fed starter, but in many recipes — especially long ferment recipes — it can still rise dough beautifully with enough time and patience.

The flavor can actually become deeper and tangier too, because the longer a starter sits unfed, the more acids develop. That’s why some rustic sourdough loaves get that bold sour flavor people love.

Now… will it behave exactly the same as an active bubbly starter fed 4–6 hours ago? Nope. Usually fermentation moves slower, and results can vary depending on how old the starter is, how it was stored, and how strong your culture is overall. But honestly? Sourdough is far more resilient than people think.

So now I’m curious…
I’m going to start testing “discard loaves” and fridge starter bakes just to see how far this can go. 😅

Would you try it? Or are you firmly on team “freshly fed starter only”?

Flour dust in the air, music playing, and something slow and beautiful unfolding on my counter… 🍞

I didn’t expect sourdough to become this —
but here we are.

My kitchen lately has been full of:
🍞 Golden, crackly classic loaves
🌶️ Jalapeño cheddar with just the right kick
🧄 Roasted garlic + asiago + parmesan (comfort in every bite)
🥯 Everything bagel loaves that disappear way too fast
🍫 And a rich chocolate chocolate chip that feels a little indulgent

There’s something grounding about it —
mixing, folding, waiting, trusting…
watching something simple turn into something incredible.

And lately… I’ve been baking a little more than my kitchen can hold.

A few loaves have been making their way out into the world —
shared, gifted, quietly enjoyed…
and that might just continue 🤍

I’m also playing around with preserving my starter (freeze-dried experiments in progress 👀),
so this little sourdough journey feels like it’s just getting started.

If you know… you know 🍞✨

Okay I have to share something… I’m officially obsessed with sourdough 🤍

Like… why did I wait so long to start this?!

There is just something about it that feels different. Slower. More intentional. More nourishing. And the more I learn, the more I’m in awe of what it actually is.

🌾 Did you know…

Sourdough isn’t just bread—it’s alive.

It’s made from wild yeast and beneficial bacteria that naturally ferment the dough over time. And that slow fermentation is where all the magic happens.

✨ The gluten actually begins to break down before you even eat it✨ Nutrients become more available for your body to absorb✨ It’s often gentler on digestion and doesn’t leave you feeling heavy or bloated✨ And it slows how your body processes it, giving you more steady energy

It’s like the bread is doing some of the work for your body before it ever reaches your plate.

And honestly… you can taste and feel the difference.

This whole process has me slowing down in the best way—learning, creating, feeding something daily, watching it grow… it’s become a rhythm I didn’t know I needed.

I truly can’t believe I waited this long. So far this week I’ve made Regular Sourdough Loaf, Jalapeño Cheddar and working on Asiago Parmesan and Roasted Garlic

And I have to say thank you to my sweet friend who gifted me my starter… you sparked a whole new passion in me that I didn’t see coming 🤍

Now I’m over here dreaming up all the things I want to make next…

🥨 Pretzel bites🌮 Soft sourdough tortillas🥐 Croissant-style sourdough loaf🍞 The softest, squishiest sandwich bread🍥 Cinnabon-style cinnamon rolls🧀 Homemade sourdough “cheez-its”

This feels like just the beginning, and I’m so excited to keep learning and sharing as I go.

If you’ve been thinking about starting sourdough… this is your sign. I promise it’s worth it 🤍

Snowy days call for something warm, soothing, and made with intention 🤍❄️

Today I brewed a cozy immune-support tea for our family:

Chamomile
Peppermint
Ginger
Freeze-dried orange wheel
Lemon balm
Raw honey to taste 🍯

Not just delicious… but deeply supportive.

🌼 Chamomile – Calms the nervous system, soothes irritation, and gently eases tension headaches.

🌿 Peppermint – Cooling and opening. Supports sinus pressure, clears the head, and helps relieve that tight, winter headache feeling.

🌱 Ginger – Warming and circulating. Encourages healthy immune response, eases sore throats, and supports digestion when we’re feeling “off.”

🍊 Orange – Rich in vitamin C and bright citrus oils that uplift mood and add gentle immune support.

🌿 Lemon Balm – A sweet, calming antiviral herb that soothes the throat, relaxes the body, and helps when stress is lowering immunity.

🍯 Raw Honey – Naturally antimicrobial and one of the best simple remedies for coating and calming a scratchy throat.

This blend is warming, calming, gently antiviral, and supportive for both sore throats and those dull winter headaches that creep in when the snow keeps us inside.

Sometimes medicine looks like a mug in your hands… steam rising… kids bundled in blankets… and a mama who chooses herbs over panic. 🤍

Stay warm. Stay rooted. Let food and herbs be part of your winter rhythm.

🌿 A Gentle Rebrand, Rooted in Who I’m Becoming 🌿

I’m stepping into a new season — one that feels more honest, more grounded, and more me. As I’ve grown, healed, learned, and listened, my work has grown right alongside me.

Wild Grace Apothecary & Wellness Co. is a reflection of that evolution — a rebrand that honors both the untamed wisdom of nature and the softness of grace in the healing process. It represents a deeper alignment with how I create, why I create, and the way I want to serve others through herbal wellness.

Wild — because nature is untamed, wise, and powerful.
Grace — because healing doesn’t have to be harsh, rushed, or perfect.

This isn’t a departure from what I’ve been doing… it’s a deeper expression of it.
The same heart. The same care. The same small-batch remedies made with intention, prayer, and respect for the plants — just wrapped in a name that finally feels like home.

Thank you for being here, for trusting me, and for growing alongside me.
I’m so excited for what this next chapter holds 🤍🌱

With wild roots & gentle grace,
Danielle

I made a fresh batch of colloidal silver today using my colloidal silver kit, and I wanted to share a little educational background for those who are curious.

Colloidal silver has a long history of use that dates back centuries, well before modern preservatives and pharmaceuticals existed. Historically, silver was valued for its protective and preservative qualities in everyday life.

Traditionally, colloidal silver has been used for:
• General surface cleansing and hygiene
• Preserving water, milk, and other liquids before refrigeration
• External skin cleansing and care
• Keeping tools, containers, and surfaces clean in historical settings
• Exploration within traditional and holistic wellness practices

Today, colloidal silver continues to be discussed in educational, ancestral, and holistic wellness spaces. As with any traditional remedy, understanding its history, preparation, and limitations is important.

I always encourage personal research, discernment, and informed decision-making when learning about traditional remedies. Education is part of wellness 🤍
