🍽️ When picky eating isn't just picky eating...
It's common for toddlers and young children to go through phases of picky eating—but sometimes, feeding challenges are a sign that a child needs extra support.
Here are a few signs to look for:
• Eats fewer than 10 foods
• Missing entire food groups from their diet (like protein, fruits, or vegetables)
• Refuses food so often that meals are regularly skipped
• Will only eat foods that are a specific brand, shape, color, or presentation
• Has significant distress or behavioral meltdowns when new foods are offered
If these challenges sound familiar, feeding therapy may help.
At Add Therapy Center, our feeding therapists use the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding, a play-based, child-led approach that helps children build confidence with food—without pressure or force.
