Obviously I have been posting non-stop on my story of all of the amazing business owners who have stepped up in our community to produce amazing free and easily accessible outlets for self-care. ⁣

It is so important for all of us to lift ourselves and each other up and support each other during this stressful time; and so important to support small and local businesses that have looked beyond profit and are truly volunteering to help. ⁣

I am currently utilizing telehealth only to do my part of social distancing, while ensuring that my clients have an outlet for their mental health and this current stressful climate.

It is NEVER a bad time to start you mental health journey! Please reach out if you need a counselor or need any assistance.

As Connecticut becomes more "locked down", our anxieties of the "unknown" tend to rise. Being stuck inside can be stressful. It is even more vital now to utilize self care multiple times a day, and be mindful and present in the moment! We must take one day at a time.

Many places are offering free or paid online exercise or yoga classes - this is a great way to get your body moving without needing to leave the house. I know a few yoga studios in particular are doing this. If you know of any, please feel free to comment and share below, so we can help each other as a community!

As a health professional in my corner of the world, I am charged with the sacred task of protecting the people I work with.

This task is now expanded as all of us face the reality of the new coronavirus pandemic that has been showing up in the news and in everyday discussion in everyday life.

Out of an abundance of caution and care for my clients, I will be currently offering all of my counseling sessions via telehealth on doxy.me until things settle down. The insurance companies I am currently paneled with, Anthem BCBS and Husky, are now covering telehealth sessions in order to better support our clients during this time.

I am still taking on new clients as well, so please reach out or request an appointment. It is never a 'bad time' to start your mental health journey.

In the mean time, please be kind to yourselves. Avoid over exposure to media and prioritize self-care every single day. Get fresh air, read a book, or anything else you enjoy. This too, shall pass.

One meaning of the word yoga is “to tie the strands of the mind together”. It allows you to connect your mind, body, and soul and can be an amazing coping skill and tool for anyone’s mental health.
