Today at the Pro-Am, I had the opportunity to meet Gary Woodland, a fellow brain tumor survivor and one of the game’s great competitors.
Like so many of us in the brain tumor community, Gary has faced challenges that extend far beyond the golf course. Watching him continue to compete at the highest level is inspiring, but what stood out most to me was the person behind the athlete.
What struck me most was how approachable and genuine he was. Despite everything he has accomplished, Gary took the time to connect, and his kindness and humility left a lasting impression. From my short interaction with him, I can say with confidence that he is a great golfer, but an even better person.
As an 18-year brain tumor survivor myself, meeting someone who has navigated a similar journey and continues to make such a positive impact was truly incredible.
Thank you, Gary, for your inspiration, your resilience and for representing the brain tumor community with such class.
