Please consider signing this petition and sharing. UnitedHealthcare plan to stop paying for lactation care for babies as of September 1st. This creates a barrier to access to care and includes denying paid services for bottle feeding babies and babies with oral dysfunction, whom I and my fellow IBCLCs also help.

Insurance companies blocking preventative care impacts all of us! We pay so much for our insurance premiums and deserve to have preventative care fully covered.

Can you feed a baby without the baby? United Healthcare seems to think so. 🤦‍♂️

UnitedHealthcare has announced a horrific new policy: they will no longer cover the infant's portion of a lactation appointment.

By pretending the baby isn't an active participant in learning to feed, UHC is loudly declaring that infant health doesn't matter to their bottom line.

This loophole slashes lactation consultant pay by 50%, which will drive top providers out of network and leave regular families stranded without affordable care.

The clock is ticking. We only have 9 days to make them walk this back.
