Well damn,✨
About 6 months ago I posted a side by side like this one with a picture of what I looked like 7 years ago when I first got Bell’s palsy and a recent picture of my asymmetrical, but much improved, kissy face. I had this feeling, this inner knowing, that I should post about it even though I’m still incredibly insecure about how my face looks. I followed my intuition because I knew it would help others who have had this diagnosis and are struggling. I shared my struggles and literally the worst picture I’ve ever taken of myself because I had that feeling, someone needs to see this and it will help them on their healing journey.
Well damn,✨ I had no idea over the course of the next few months I would connect with so many people because of that post. I have talked to people all around the world, people in medical school, loved ones looking for advice to help their family members who are struggling, moms who also got it while pregnant, and of course my fellow Bell’s palsy/Lyme disease warriors. 💪🏻❤️
Share your struggles, be authentic and don’t try to hide the stuff you are going through. Sharing these experiences is how we heal together.
✨be well✨
