Aligned Living & Leadership

Aligned Living & Leadership Excellence Coach & Executive Consultant

Empowering individuals & businesses to align their purpose, strategy, & actions for sustainable success.

Guiding personal & professional growth through continuous improvement. At Kizen Living, we operate from a philosophy similar to kaizen, a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement of working practices and personal efficiency. We believe everyone can benefit from a continuous practice of self-improvement and personal understanding and there is always access to greater joy and more ease

in your life. A Kizen Koaching session is much like the Kizen Koach, herself -- it's multi-faceted, but you only need to take what works for you, and you are invited to leave the rest! When we work together, you are offered an opportunity to explore as much or as little as you are called to explore when it comes to guided personal improvement. After all, it's personal improvement and YOU are that person. Traditional counseling offers an opportunity to explore "seed" issues and work from the "roots" up; general life coaching offers access to more immediate and specific goals; conscious consumption offers us new means of nourishing ourselves with both food and content; subtle body energy work offers insight on the deepest and most ethereal layer of life. Kizen Koaching offers a means to access all the different and interconnected aspects of our individual experience and realign to them in ways to feel most empowered NOW. Based on personal experience and countless hours of research and study at Kizen Living, we believe that the body, brain, and breath are the best access points through which all things are balanced. Each impacts the other and without balance in all areas we cannot live our best lives, but even just a bit of focus in one small part of our lives can have a big and beneficial impact on the rest of our Experience.

Earlier this year, I gave myself one of the most meaningful birthday gifts I’ve ever received: a flying dress photo session with the incredibly talented Cherie Sutton.

At the time, I thought I was treating myself to beautiful photos.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

What I actually gave myself was permission to celebrate 50 incredible trips around the sun. I gave myself the opportunity to be fully seen, not for who I have been expected to be, but for who I have become. I connected with Colorado in a way that filled me with awe, laughed until my cheeks hurt, and walked away with far more than images.

I walked away with a memory of what it feels like to honor my own journey.

So many women spend decades pouring into everyone else. We celebrate everyone else’s milestones while quietly moving past our own.

What if you gave yourself permission to pause?

To celebrate the wisdom you’ve earned.

To be witnessed.

To reconnect with the woman you’ve become.

To laugh, explore, and experience genuine joy.

That is exactly the Desert Bloom Retreat was created.

It isn’t about escaping your life. It’s about returning to yourself alongside incredible women who understand that every season has shaped the person you are today.

Come celebrate your story. Share your wisdom. Be seen. Have fun. Bloom.

“𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧.”

People say it with admiration.
They celebrate your accomplishments.
They compliment your strength.
They tell you how lucky you are.

And quietly, you wonder…

“If you could only see what it actually feels like to be me.”

Sometimes the greatest loneliness isn’t being unseen.

It’s being seen for the version of yourself you’ve learned to perform.

The one who has it together.
The one who never asks for help.
The one who keeps smiling while carrying the weight of everyone else.

When you spend enough time living as the person everyone expects you to be, you can begin to lose sight of the woman you truly are.

The woman beneath the titles.
Beneath the responsibilities.
Beneath the achievements.

The one who longs to exhale.
To be witnessed without needing to impress.
To laugh without performing.
To cry without apologizing.
To simply belong.

You don’t need another place where people admire your highlight reel.

You need a space where your whole story is welcome.

🌵 Desert Bloom was created for women who are ready to stop shrinking, stop performing, and start allowing themselves to be fully seen.

Come celebrate the wisdom you’ve earned.
Reconnect with the woman you’ve always been.
And discover what becomes possible when you’re surrounded by women who see your heart, not just your accomplishments.

LEAP Week. What a gift. 🙏

This week reminded me that one introduction can change the trajectory of a life.

Years ago, Forbes Riley made an introduction that I’m deeply grateful for. She introduced me to Dr. Bill Dorfman.

That introduction led me to becoming a mentor with the LEAP Foundation, where I’ve had the privilege of spending time with some of the brightest, most driven, and most heart-centered young people I’ve ever met.

Dr. Bill didn’t just create another leadership program. He created a movement. LEAP equips young adults with the mindset, confidence, relationships, and leadership skills to step into lives of purpose and impact. The ripple effect of what happens during this week will continue for decades through every leader who chooses courage over comfort and contribution over complacency.

To Forbes, thank you for always seeing possibilities and creating connections that elevate others. Your generosity continues to create ripples you may never fully see.

To Dr. Bill, thank you for your extraordinary vision and for investing so deeply in the next generation. The world is better because you believed they were worth investing in.

And to every LEAP participant: never underestimate the impact you are capable of making. The future isn’t waiting for you. You’re creating it.

My heart is full of gratitude for the people who open doors, build bridges, and remind us that leadership is ultimately about lifting others.

Here’s to the next generation of leaders who are ready to change the world… and to the mentors and visionaries who make that possible.

What if the reason you’re not taking action isn’t fear, laziness, or a lack of discipline?

What if the real issue is that the goals you’re chasing aren’t actually aligned with what you value most?

I often see people who have done years of personal development work. They’ve healed relationships, improved their health, strengthened boundaries, and deepened their self-awareness. Yet one area continues to feel stuck.

Not because they’re broken.

Not because they need another mindset hack.

But because there is a gap between what they say they want and what they truly value.

When your goals are aligned with your deepest values, action feels different. Energy becomes available. Decisions become clearer. Accountability becomes easier. Progress gains momentum.

When they’re not aligned, even the best strategy can feel like pushing a boulder uphill.

At Aligned Living & Leadership, we don’t start with goals.

We start with awareness.

Because once you understand what matters most, you can create accountability around the right things and take aligned action that actually moves your life, leadership, and business forward.

The question isn’t:

“Why am I not doing the thing?”

The better question is:

“Does this goal truly reflect what I value?”

When awareness, accountability, and aligned action come together, sustainable success becomes possible.

“The hardest cage to leave is the one that was built from everyone else’s expectations.”

There comes a moment when a woman realizes she has spent so much of her life being what everyone else needed her to be that she can no longer hear herself.

The capable one.
The strong one.
The responsible one.
The woman who keeps everything moving while quietly wondering when it will finally be her turn.

If you’ve been feeling unseen lately, it may not be because no one is looking.

It may be because you’ve outgrown the version of yourself they’ve become comfortable seeing.

The next chapter isn’t asking you to work harder.
It’s asking you to become more honest.

More honest about what you want.
More honest about what you’re done carrying.
More honest about the dreams you’ve kept tucked away because they felt too big, too inconvenient, or too late.

You were never meant to spend your life proving your worth.

You were meant to spread your wings.

This September, a small group of extraordinary women will gather in Joshua Tree for the Desert Bloom Retreat. Together, we’ll share stories, wisdom, laughter, tears, and the courage required to step into what comes next.

Imagine leaving with:

✨ Clarity about your next chapter
✨ A story that finally fits who you’ve become
✨ Friendships that continue long after the retreat
✨ A practical plan for the next 90 days
✨ The confidence to stop performing and start living

If your soul has been whispering, “There’s more for me than this,” perhaps it’s time to listen.

Women are building the future of the economy. But are we building businesses that can actually hold our vision?

Today is National Day of Women in Business, and the numbers tell a story of incredible momentum:

🔥There are nearly 13 million women-owned businesses in the U.S.
🔥We generate over $1.9 trillion in revenue annually.
🔥Women of color are the fastest-growing segment of entrepreneurs, starting businesses at 4.5 times the national average.

We are bold. We are multi-passionate. We are capable of starting "the damn thing" and making it soar.

Across industries, I see the same pattern: Brilliant ideas and deep purpose, resting on top of structures that weren't designed to carry the weight of your ambition. It works for a while... until the cracks start to show.

True alignment isn't just about what you’re building; it’s about how it’s built. If growth feels unstable or decisions are taking more energy than they should, the problem isn't your vision. It’s your infrastructure.

I’m inviting you to a different kind of conversation. On April 29th at 12:00 PM MST, I’m hosting Aligned Enterprise: A 60-minute workshop on building businesses that actually hold.

This isn't about adding more to your plate. It’s about moving from effort to alignment. We’ll look at the core systems that determine whether your business is reactive or resilient... scattered or built to last.

If you’re ready to stop "pushing" and start designing a business that creates clarity and sustainable momentum, this is for you.

📅 Date: April 29
🕛 Time: 12:00 PM MST
🎟️ Cost: Free to attend (but the value is unshakeable)

Reserve your spot by commenting "ALIGNED". Come see what your business is truly capable of holding when it’s built for peace and power.

MOMENTUM & MASTERY MONDAY

🌀Projection🌀

What you react to sets the tone of your week.
Unchecked reactions drain momentum.

Mastery means catching projections early and bringing the focus back inward.
Your energy follows your ownership.

SHADOW WORK WEDNESDAY

Responsibility

You are not responsible for the wound.
You are responsible for the healing.

Shadow work is the moment you stop waiting for someone else to make it right.
Not because they did nothing wrong, but because your life is too important to outsource.

Responsibility is not blame.
It is power reclaimed.

Invitation for Reflection:
Where are you still waiting for someone else to change so you can feel better?
