An aluminum ramp to address two stairs and a 2.5” threshold. The level landing in front ensures no rolling back while opening the door. Safe and reliable!

No idea why my earlier post had its content blocked. Everything is copyright HomeBase Solutions, so there is no issue there. Let’s try again… And then I see that the earlier one is still there, just a second version wasn’t. Well, for your enjoyment, here it is again. I’ll post another project in a moment.

The top left picture of the floor plan is Before; the next is the proposed After. Note the turned toilet, removal of mid-door and bench across from vanity, and provided a much-wider shower.

We can make small space feel large! And safe and accessible.

Before, During, and Afters of our recent bathroom project in Brentwood. Created a reel, too!

Just a relatively simple 90 degree turn of the toilet made a world of difference! No more knees bittong the tub. A barrier-free shower gives ample space. And the unneeded middle door and bench opposite the vanity were removed to give a clear path to the shower and commode.

Everything was caulked to ensure no water intrusion. We use composite baseboards that cannot rot, and seal underneath them so water won’t fond a way to cause dry rot. All new plumbing to ensure reliable water in and down the drain.

Lots more details than this, but this should be enough to help show what we can do. Questions and comments are welcome. And remember that we can help from afar to help avoid mistakes that well-meaning folks may make who haven’t lived the life of caregiving.

So we got to play a small part in a miracle for our new friends. Without divulging exactly what’s going on (we say HIPAA compliant), we were given permission to share the following:

A couple years ago, PeggyJo started having issues with safely getting up to and down from upstairs (bedroom, bathroom, etc). She created a GoFundMe account (see below) to get some help to purchase a stairlift. While there were some very generous and thoughtful contributions, it wasn’t enough and didn’t have the momentum to get where it needed in a timely manner.

Then come a fellow named Brian. He called us to ask if we could help. Apparently he had reached out to other companies with no positive response. We took his request to help to heart and learned so much more in the process.

Brian heard about PeggyJo’s need kind of by accident. He said that God put it on his heart to help. So we discussed options and came up with a great solution that didn’t cost an arm and a leg—one of the benefits of working directly with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that makes products for other companies charging significantly more. We ‘sharpened the pencil’ and he funded the whole project! Truly a blessing.

The photos (separate post) show what we did to install. The heartfelt thank you video to Brian is an extension of the tearful hugs of liberation shared with us. Absolutely amazing story, and a big injection of hope for humanity! Praying at the end was icing on the cake. What an incredible journey!

We had a fun three days meeting other vendors and attendees at the Expo. The Music City Consortium for Seniors is comprised of Synergy HomeCare of Middle Tennessee, Assisted Living Locators South Nashville, Senior Risk Solutions, and, of course, us HomeBase Solutions, LLC.

Wrapping up in an hour. Should be able to do some updates of Before/After on some projects shortly.
