Starting the school year is exciting.....but it can also be stressful. Getting back into early morning routines, sending your kids off to learn new things, finding your own routine while they're gone, it can be a lot. And that doesn't even include the homework and activities you know they're going to bring home!

Make sure you're taking care of yourself so you can take care of those little ones (and the big ones, too).

Here are some manageable ways to manage stress and make the transition easier:

- Prioritize the basics. Balanced meals, hydration, movement, and sleep.

- Create a predictable routine. Now that the first week is out of the way, look back and try to figure out what your routine needs to look like - then stick with it. Are you a homework first kind of house? Do the kids need a mental break and a snack as soon as you enter the door? Decide what works best and be consistent. Consistency is more important than perfection 🩷

- Set aside a few minutes to sit in calm. No school or work talk, no tv, no stress. Just a few minutes to reset your mind and connect with your body. Check in with yourself and be mindful of how you're feeling both mentally and emotionally. Just 5 minutes is all you need. You can do it πŸ’ͺ🏻

- Give yourself some grace. Then extend that grace to the kids. When things get hectic, remember you're human and things take time. You're doing great!

And, as always, remember your wellness RN is here if you need an added boost of support.

B vitamins are essential for turning the food you eat into usable energy and supporting your nervous system, brain function, red blood cell production, and overall metabolism.
They can also help support healthy skin, hair, and immune function.
Because B vitamins are water-soluble, the body generally doesn’t store large amounts, making consistent dietary intake important.
Reasons to get your vitamins via IV: malabsorption problems, such as inflammation, certain medical conditions, genetics, etc.

Taurine has so many great benefits, but one of my favorites is how well it helps with mood. It can help with anxiety and depression by acting on your GABA receptors, offering a calm and stable mood. 😎

Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps your body produce healthy red blood cells, build DNA, and maintain nerve function.

You could be deficient if you are experiencing fatigue, weakness, memory problems, or brain fog, among other symptoms.

Certain types of anemia can cause malabsorption of B12, as well as certain genetic factors, making regular IM injections not only beneficial but necessary for some individuals.

For those who are able to absorb vitamin B12 through diet, sources include meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. For those with absorption issues, or those who have diets that don't include meat, injections are a great option because they absorb well and typically last about a week. ✨️

We love the benefits of glutathione - natural antioxidant, immune support, promoting skin health, detoxification - but what are the things that can deplete our levels?
Time, stress, diet, toxins, and illness, but did you know certain medications can lower our levels? Tylenol, NSAIDs, antibiotics, PPIs, and tricyclic antidepressants like Elavil can deplete us and contribute to decreased immune function, dull skin, and the ability to detox harmful toxins from our bodies.
Some foods that contain glutathione or the building blocks to make its own include avocado, spinach, asparagus, okra, and strawberries πŸ“ great summer options!

Who's exhausted from celebrating Independence Day? πŸ–πŸ» This girl is for sure.
One great supplement to help you rest is magnesium. It helps you relax, and helps with your REM cycle, helping you achieve a deeper, more restful sleep. And the really good news is that dark chocolate is a decent source of magnesium 😏 if that isn't enough, or if you need a little extra, give me a shout.
Your Wellness RN is here to support whatever you need, and I have some great options to help you recover from the holiday. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Hi, I’m Myra β€” ICU nurse, wellness advocate, and the face behind The Wellness RN Collective. We have some new followers in the group, so I want to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I have been a nurse for 6+ years and currently work as an ICU float nurse in Middle Tennessee. My passion for preventative health and holistic wellness led me into mobile IV therapy. I work alongside Mobile IV Nurses in order to support hydration, energy, recovery, immunity, and overall wellness.

I believe in the value of both modern medicine and natural wellness, and I love helping people feel their best from the inside out. It is a privilege to help people work toward and achieve optimal wellness, and I am honored to be a part of your journey.
