What Fireworks Feel Like to Our Pets
With the 4th of July coming up, the fireworks are already starting. It always makes me think about how terrified our pets get around this time of year.
If you are a veteran who has been in battle and lives with PTSD, you already know how overwhelming and intense those sudden, loud booms can be. Now, think about your pets. They don't have calendars, and they don't know what a holiday is. To them, those loud explosions just sound like danger, and they have no idea why it's happening or when it will stop.
As we celebrate over the next several days, let's keep an extra close eye on our four-legged family members. They depend on us to keep them feeling safe when their whole world feels like a battle zone.

We have a real chance to end horse slaughter - permanently.
The 2026 Farm Bill is being finalized in DC. We need the SAFE Act included to ban the transport and export of our horses for good. This protects all equines - from our domestic pets and workhorses to the wild mustangs born on public lands. We have bipartisan support, but we can't let this slip off the priority list.
Please take 2 minutes today:

Find your officials: House.gov or Senate.gov.
Call their DC offices: Ask for the staffer handling Agriculture.
The Script: "I'm a constituent urging [insert Senators' and Representative's names] to include the SAFE Act in the 2026 Farm Bill. It's time to protect all our horses from slaughter."

Every year, thousands of horses are shipped across borders to a grim fate. We need to act now.

Is A "No" The End Of A Friendship?
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the "human" side of business.
I recently had a situation where a professional relationship I’d valued for a couple of years suddenly went cold. Why? Because it became clear I wasn't a "prospect" for what he was selling anymore.
My friends, that's no way to treat someone. In my world, whether I'm helping a family find affordable health solutions through Impact Health Sharing or working on my mission to help rescue horses, relationships are golden. A "no" today doesn't mean "never." And even if we never do business together, you might be the person who introduces me to someone whose life I can help change.
If a connection only lasts as long as the sales pitch, it wasn't a relationship; it was a transaction. I’d rather have a solid connection and a cup of coffee than a quick sale any day. The "long game" is where the real impact happens.
How do you handle it when a business lead says "No?" Do you keep the door open, or do you move on to the next? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
