Our team is expanding! We’re excited to have Chassidi join our team and know she’ll be a great addition, especially to our military families as she’s a military spouse herself.

Outside of doula work, Chassidi enjoys serving alongside her husband at their church. She also loves spending time with family and friends, creating art, being outdoors, and enjoying every season of Midwest life.

Love love repeats!! 🥰 and this one reminded us that you can’t put labor in a box. Her contractions had slowed down in the tub and she was getting very tired so we decided to get out and rest a bit.
We did some side lying release and while we were still in that position, WHAM, she went from 5 min apart contractions to having a strong urge to push and had her baby in just a few minutes.

I’m so glad Sam was in the building since this one didn’t give us much notice!

This sweet repeat mama called with concerns about frank bleeding but only minimal contractions. Since she has quite the drive to the birth center, she stopped by the hospital to be evaluated first. Thankfully, everything looked reassuring, and they told her she was likely in early labor.

Knowing her last baby arrived at lightning speed, she and her family wasted no time getting on the road to meet us at the birth center, alongside their doula.

And true to form...she was right.

Just one hour after arriving, she was snuggling sweet Brett in her arms. 💙

With her previous birth, she experienced a significant postpartum hemorrhage, so this time we went into birth with a proactive plan. Together, we decided to administer Pitocin after birth to help reduce the risk of excessive bleeding. It turned out to be the right decision. While we were waiting for the placenta to deliver, she did have another bleed, but it was nothing like her first experience. Because we were prepared and acted early, she recovered so much more smoothly and felt dramatically better in the days that followed.

Now this precious family is soaking up every moment as they officially become a family of five. Brett has an older brother and an older sister who are absolutely smitten with their newest little buddy.

The greatest compliment we can receive is when families trust us with more than one birth. Mom and Dad, thank you for allowing me to walk alongside your journey—not once, but twice. It has truly been an honor.

Did you know that doulas help reduce the likelihood of a C-section? Among my clients, I definitely do not see the 33% average ending in C-sections.

We work with you to prepare, educate and support you through the unexpected circumstances that can arise in labor.

Doulas cannot guarantee birth outcomes, no one can.

However, research shows that working with a doula reduces the likelihood of a c-section.

Some c-sections are absolutely medically indicated. But based on our high c-section rates, we know that many are not medically necessary.

A meta-analysis published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology stated:

"Pregnant patients supported by doulas services are 68% less likely to undergo CD than those receiving standard prenatal care, more likely to have IAVD, and have no difference in epidural rates. Additional research is needed to elucidate the impact of doula services on neonatal outcomes. Nonetheless, doula support services represent a promising intervention to decrease the high rates of caesarean section in the United States."

A 68% reduced risk of c-section is absolutely statistically significant. It means compared to those without doula support, they are less likely to have a c-section (some will still have medically necessary ones or even opt for elective).

When a c-section does occur even with doula support, many parents report having a better understanding of why it became necessary AND feel more like they were active participants in the decision-making process.
