When you see me working from 3 devices, plus a wall monitor, watch out! I’m on grind mode! Now that I’m an OBGYN hospitalist, I have time to do the Maternal Health public health work that I love without straining my myself, my family or schedule. God is amazing!

Anyone that knows me, knows I don’t like changing scrubs because I got “fluids” on them so I’m bouts to be covered up, boots and all! This is not the job of a scrub tech, but sometimes I just need a little help! I have been grateful to the scrub techs I’ve worked with over the past 10 years! You all have taught me to operate, taught me about instruments and how to put together the equipment, you have given me ideas in the OR that have helped me get thru cases and you have assisted me with minor cases and big hysterectomies when I didn’t have a first assistant surgeon. You all have been my ace in the OR and you always “give me what I need, not what I ask for!” To all my OR aces over the past 10 years (residency until now), Thank you and Happy Scrub tech week!

In celebration of the 5 VBACs my partners and I did this past week, I just had to wear this shirt to work today!! Although it meant that we had to spend an overwhelming number of hours in the hospital, we were thrilled to be able to reduce the potential morbidity that repeat cesareans can bring and also increase the postpartum quality of life from a pain standpoint. God is good! If you have had a prior cesarean delivery, please reach out to your doctor to see if you are a good candidate for a Trial of Labor after Cesarean (TOLAC), leading to a successful VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)! Thanks to our president elect of ACOG for putting me on to this t-shirt! 🥰🥰
