It's not our place to try and talk someone out of their feelings. There's no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to feel. Meet them where they are, not where you imagine they should be, and just support them as they work through what they are feeling. If you're professing to be there for someone, it needs to actually be about them.

Just my two cents as I work through some hurtful drama. What are your thoughts?

Check out this amazing local opportunity!

Improv Therapy for Anxiety is part improv class, part group therapy. It is loads of fun! Designed for adults who struggle with anxiety, and who isn’t anxious these days?
The group is facilitated by Jenny Findling, Ph.D., LCPC.
Each session is an hour and a half long; we will have 45 minutes of improv games and scene work. The next part of the session is devoted to members sharing their thoughts and feelings with one another in this supportive environment.
This group will help you let go of perfectionism, exercise your creativity, and find joy together with other adults. It is also an excellent way to strengthen your memory and cognitive flexibility. Come and find your people!
The group will begin on March 5, 2026. We will meet for 6 sessions, six weeks in a row. We will meet on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11am.
We will meet at Flying Pig Improv studio at 2320 East Douglas Ave. in Wichita

Is there something you do or feel that you don't like? Stress you try to ignore by numbing out or distracting yourself. Anxiety that feels uncomfortable, so you try to prevent situations where it might happen. Anger that seems to come out of nowhere and hurts those around you.

Even the parts of us that we often think of as "bad" have some underlying good intention, and turning toward them instead of away from them can bring healing. Pushing these parts away is a short term solution, but it can often have damaging long term results.
