Shawnique Thornton serves as the Resident Care Coordinator at Cambridge Crossing Assisted Living & Memory Care, where she is dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents through compassionate, individualized care and meaningful connections. Her passion for caregiving began at an early age while helping care for her great-grandmother during times of declining health. Those experiences inspired her lifelong commitment to serving others and supporting seniors with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Shawnique began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2013 and later earned her Medication Technician certification in 2020. She currently holds an Associate Degree in Health Science and plans to continue her education by pursuing a doctorate degree. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on growing both personally and professionally while making a positive impact on the lives of those around her.
Known for her strong work ethic and dedication, Shawnique is passionate about building meaningful relationships with residents and listening to the stories that have shaped their lives. She believes the most rewarding part of her role is knowing she has brightened someone’s day—whether through a smile, laughter, or simply being present to offer support and care.
One of Shawnique’s proudest accomplishments has been stepping into the role of Resident Care Coordinator, where she strives to make a difference not only in the lives of residents, but also among the team members she works alongside each day. Her vision for the future is to continue improving the quality of life for residents through proactive, coordinated care while fostering strong collaboration across the care team to ensure every resident receives the support they deserve.
