🤠🐎 **MIDWEST YOUTH RODEO ASSOCIATION – EXCITING UPDATES FOR THIS YEAR!** 🐎🤠

🔥 **YOU SPOKE, WE LISTENED!** 🔥

We are excited to announce a few changes for the upcoming MYRA rodeo season!

💙 **NEW! 14–18 BOYS SPEED EVENTS!**

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of interest in adding speed events for our 14–18 boys! After hearing your feedback, we've decided to make it happen! We love seeing our rodeo families get involved and helping us continue to grow MYRA!

🏆 **NEW! SPLIT 5–8 AGE DIVISION!**

Another exciting change this year! We have officially split our 5–8 age division into separate girls' and boys' divisions!

⭐ **5–8 Girls All-Around Champion**

⭐ **5–8 Boys All-Around Champion**

This means our young cowgirls and cowboys will each have their own opportunity to compete for an All-Around title!

🐴 **4 & UNDER DIVISION**

Our 4 & Under division will remain **unisex**, allowing all our littlest cowboys and cowgirls to compete together!

📅 **IMPORTANT AGE DIVISION INFORMATION!**

For the upcoming MYRA season, **contestants' ages will be determined as of July 6, 2026.**

Since this is the age cutoff date that the majority of our contestants are already competing under this year, we have decided to keep it consistent to help avoid confusion for our rodeo families.

Please note that **this cutoff date may change for future seasons**, but for this season, July 6, 2026, will be the official date used to determine age divisions.

📣 **PRICING & ENTRY INFORMATION COMING SOON!**

We will be sharing pricing, entry details, and additional information soon, so be sure to keep an eye on our page for updates!

We are so excited for another year of rodeo, friendships, growth, and unforgettable memories!

Thank you to all our MYRA families for your input and continued support. **We can't wait to see everyone in the arena!** 💙🤠

🐴 MIDWEST YOUTH RODEO ASSOCIATION – WE WANT YOUR INPUT! 🐴

📣 As we work on our new event list, we would love to hear from our rodeo families and contestants!

In the past, we removed the 14–18 Boys Speed Events due to low entries. These events included:

🔹 Barrels
🔹 Poles
🔹 Flags
🔹 Texas 8

We are now considering whether there is enough interest to bring these age-specific classes back!

We WILL be offering Open classes in these speed events, and boys ages 14–18 will be eligible to compete in the Open.

❓ HERE’S OUR QUESTION TO YOU:

Would you like to see the 14–18 Boys Speed Events brought back as their own division, or would you prefer to keep these events Open, where the boys can still compete?

💰 Something to keep in mind: Bringing back these classes would mean additional payouts, but payouts are based on entries. If a class has very few contestants, the payout may be quite small and not as financially beneficial to those competing.

❤️ We want to offer events that our contestants are excited about while also making sure the classes are worthwhile for everyone involved!

👇 PLEASE COMMENT BELOW!

1️⃣ YES – Bring back the 14–18 Boys Speed Events!

2️⃣ NO – Keep them in the Open classes!

3️⃣ Other thoughts or suggestions? We’d love to hear them!

Your feedback matters, and we appreciate everyone helping us make Midwest Youth Rodeo Association the best it can be! 🤠🐎

🐴 MIDWEST YOUTH RODEO – OPEN CLASSES CLARIFICATION! 🐴

We realize the wording for our Open may have been a little confusing, so we wanted to clear a few things up!

Our Open classes are TRUE OPEN classes! 🤠

That means:
✅ ANYONE can enter, regardless of age!
✅ You do NOT have to have a child competing in the youth rodeo to enter!
✅ Parents, grandparents, friends, and competitors of all ages are welcome!
✅ Parents CAN enter and compete WITH their kids!
✅ Kids CAN partner with someone from ANY age division!
✅ Team Roping will be ENTER TWICE!

We thought this would be a fun addition to Midwest Youth Rodeo and a great way to get the whole family involved!

Maybe you’re a parent who wants to tune up your kid’s horse, or maybe you just want a chance to ride your own horse again… because let’s be honest, we all know those kids have probably stolen your good horses by now! 🤣🐎

And how fun would it be to see parents and kids competing together?! Or siblings, friends, and family members from different age divisions teaming up? That’s exactly what we want to encourage!

We are also hoping these classes bring in some new faces! Maybe you’ve never competed in a rodeo before, or maybe it’s been a few years since you’ve entered the arena. We would love to have you join us!

Our goal is to make Midwest Youth Rodeo a place where families can come together, have fun, make memories, and enjoy some friendly competition.

So don’t let the word “Youth” fool you — our Open is for EVERYONE! ❤️

We can’t wait to see the kids AND adults out there competing! 🐴🤠

📣 2026-2027 SCHEDULE AND BIG NEWS FROM MIDWEST YOUTH RODEO ASSOCIATION 📣

With the upcoming rodeo season quickly approaching, we want to take a moment to share some important changes moving forward.

After careful consideration, Midwest Youth Rodeo Association has made the decision to resign from the NLBRA franchise program.

This was not a decision we made lightly. However, given the current state of the board and the decisions being made that we feel specifically target certain franchises and contestants, we believe withdrawing is in the best interest of our contestants, personnel, and families.

Over time, we have become increasingly concerned with the lack of transparency, increased fees, inconsistent regulations, decisions that appear to favor specific agendas, lack of consideration for contestants, attempts to silence members, and what we feel has been unfair treatment of contestants based on the events they choose to participate in. These are issues we can no longer comfortably support or tolerate.

⭐ A NEW FORMAT FOR MIDWEST YOUTH RODEO ASSOCIATION ⭐

Moving forward, we will be implementing a division format for our rodeos. Our goal is simple: create a rodeo association that is more inclusive, affordable, competitive, and welcoming to every kid who wants to rodeo.

Whether your child is a seasoned competitor or stepping into the arena for the very first time, there will be a place for them here. ❤️

With no membership fees, sponsorship fees, or Little Britches franchise fees, we will be able to put more money back into the contestants through larger payouts at each rodeo.

And we want to reward those who commit to the entire season! 🏆

Any youth contestant who competes in 10 of our 12 rodeos throughout the season will receive a custom jacket. 4 and under contestants will also receive a buckle. All around will be awarded a saddle for each youth division.

🔥 NEW OPEN DIVISION 🔥

We are also excited to announce the addition of an Open Division!

Youth contestants will have the opportunity to compete in their regular age division AND the Open Division. This gives contestants who want additional competition another opportunity to enter, compete, and earn a payout.

The Open Division will add another level of competition to our rodeos while still allowing every youth contestant to compete within their appropriate age division. Whether you’re still developing your skills or ready to challenge yourself against the field, you choose the opportunities that are right for you.

Our hope is to get back to what youth rodeo should be — a fun, family-oriented, supportive community where kids cheer each other on, families enjoy being together, and everyone has an opportunity to succeed.

This is a new chapter for Midwest Youth Rodeo Association, and we want you to be part of building it with us.

We are completely open to suggestions and would genuinely love to hear from our contestants and families:

💬 What would you like to see moving forward?
💬 What would you NOT like to see?
💬 What events, awards, or ideas would make our rodeos better for your family?

Drop your thoughts in the comments or reach out to us directly. We want to listen, learn, and build something that our youth rodeo community can be proud of.

Here’s to a new season, a new direction, and a new opportunity to make youth rodeo what it should be.
