Let's talk about breaking up with your counselor:

1. It is ok and normal to move on.❤️
2. It can be used as a tool and an opportunity to teach you that you can have healthy closure and resolution .
3. It provides you the opportunity to express and voice your needs in a safe setting.
4. You deserve to get your needs met to find the best fit to reach your therapeutic goals.

I would rather a million times over a client tell me I am not right for them then them not return and wonder if they are OK.

I will always set them up with a transition plan and give several valid referrals.

Celebrating another year of Colors of Seasons LLC-Counseling & Yoga and a new professional milestone along the way.

I am officially: Kate Nagy, M.Ed., LPCC-S.

I now have the privilege of supervising and mentoring fellow clinicians as they continue to grow in their own journeys of helping others. ❤️

So grateful to have the ongoing opportunity to learn from all of my mentors along the way to push me to be a better counselor and human in the field.

My only in person work day is Saturday.
The rest of the week I work virtual.
And let me tell you.

The gift it is to be given the opportunity to hold space and support people is something I do not take for granted.

I do the work that I do because I am passionate about it.
I do what I do because I care.
I believe in being ethical, genuine, and utilizing the strengths and talents my clients come in with to channel into living the life they want utilizing evidenced based trauma informed modalities.

In school I was not good at much. I was never the smartest...I used to say I was the "dumbest smartish person in the grade". I would basically chalk up to just doing my homework that helped me to get by. I definitely was not athletic, musical, popular or artistic but I knew I cared about others.

Younger Katie (as I went by back then) would have laughed if you told her one day she would find a place that felt right with her values and passions. She would have told you, I am not good enough for that profession. She would have told you she was not smart enough to get a Masters Degree, that for her first career as a teacher she felt she failed in many ways, a lot of tears spent on the phone with her Mom and husband on the drive home from work. A lot of questioning her identity and place in this world.

It took a lot of challenges, a lot of life experiences, a lot of broken roads, meeting with incredible teachers to guide her, the art of an ever changing mindfulness routine, the undoing of themes and facing of fears that lead me to this beautiful career and family that I hold so near and dear to me today.

Thank you to the teachers in my life in all essense of the word, for showing up and who keep showing up for me so I can keep doing the work I hold so near and dear to my heart.
