What to Know About Vertigo

BPPV — short for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo — is one of the most common causes of sudden dizziness and spinning sensations. It happens when tiny crystals in the inner ear become displaced, confusing the body’s balance system.

People often notice symptoms when:
🛏️ Rolling over in bed
⬆️ Looking up
⬇️ Bending forward
🚶 Getting in or out of bed

Episodes are usually brief but can feel intense, causing dizziness, nausea, or unsteadiness.

The good news? Physical therapy can often help quickly through specialized repositioning techniques, such as the Epley maneuver, designed to guide those crystals back where they belong. Many people improve within just a few visits! 🙌

***It’s important to remember that not all dizziness is BPPV, which is why proper evaluation matters.

🤕 Headaches don’t always start in your head—they can start in your neck!

Cervicogenic headaches are often caused by neck joint or disc issues, muscle tension, poor posture, injury, or nerve irritation. Symptoms may include one-sided head pain, neck stiffness, and pain that worsens with neck movement.
