🤕 Another headache?

If headaches keep coming back, your sinuses could be trying to tell you something.

June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month, a great time to talk about an often-overlooked headache trigger: chronic allergies and sinus inflammation.

When your nasal passages and sinuses stay swollen and congested, they can create pressure that contributes to:
🔹 Headaches
🔹 Facial pain and pressure
🔹 Migraine flare-ups
🔹 Poor sleep and fatigue

If you find yourself reaching for headache medication while also dealing with congestion, drainage, sneezing, or sinus pressure, there may be a connection.

🌿 You don't have to simply "live with it." Identifying and treating underlying allergy or sinus issues may help reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life.

📞 Schedule an evaluation and let us help uncover what's behind your headaches.

Waited weeks for your allergy test appointment? Don’t let Benadryl sabotage your results 😅

Here’s how to prep like a pro before your upcoming allergy test:

🚫 Avoid antihistamines for 1 week prior to testing
💊 Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 1 week prior (including OTC & prescription meds unless otherwise instructed)
🍵 Avoid green tea for 1 week prior to testing
😴 Skip nighttime sleep aids for 1 week before your test
🧴 No lotions the day of testing
👕 Wear something sleeveless and loose fitting
📚 Bring distractions — book, iPad, phone, favorite “lovey”… anything to keep your mind OFF the itching 😂

🫁 Asthma patients: DO NOT stop your inhalers — and please bring them with you!

❓Not sure if you should stop a medication or not? Give us a call or send us a text before your appointment — we’re happy to help!

A little preparation helps make sure you get the most accurate results possible ✔️

Can’t breathe through your nose no matter how many times you tell yourself, “It’s probably just allergies…” 👃😅

If you’re constantly congested, sleeping with your mouth open, or carrying tissues like they’re a personality trait… enlarged inferior turbinates may be the real culprit.

Inferior turbinates are normal tissue inside the nose that can become chronically swollen and block airflow — making it feel like you’re breathing through a coffee straw. ☕👃

The good news?
An inferior turbinate reduction is a quick, minimally invasive in-office procedure that helps open the nasal passages so you can breathe easier, sleep better, and finally retire the “allergies” excuse. 😉

Most patients are surprised by how simple the procedure is — and how much better they feel afterward!

✨ New to the office and wondering what kind of cameras we use during your ENT exam?

We use specialized endoscopes to help us safely and comfortably examine different areas with incredible detail. 💙 Depending on the area being evaluated, we may use either a rigid or flexible endoscope to provide the best visualization possible.

🔹 Rigid Endoscopes
These straight, high-definition cameras provide crystal-clear imaging and are commonly used to:
👃 Examine the nasal passages and sinuses
🩸 Assist with visualization during severe nosebleeds
🔬 Help guide nasal biopsies and procedures

Rigid scopes are especially helpful for evaluating sinus disease, nasal obstruction, nasal polyps, and other structural concerns.

🔹 Flexible Endoscopes
These soft, bendable cameras are designed with patient comfort in mind and are often used to examine:
👃 The back of the nose
🗣️ The throat and vocal cords
🥤 Swallowing function and airway concerns

Flexible scopes allow us to gently navigate around curves while evaluating structures during speaking, breathing, and swallowing.

💡 Most endoscopic exams are quick, minimally invasive, well tolerated, and performed right here in the office with little discomfort.
