You don’t have to eat chicken, broccoli, and rice every day on repeat to be healthy… and no, you don’t have to eat a boring salad everyday for lunch either. You should be able to eat foods that you fully enjoy that ALSO support your health goals. You don’t have to feel restricted or miserable with your food choices for the sake of being healthy. If you need inspo for meals and snacks that keep you on track with your health but are still fun to eat, hit that follow button. 👋

What I ate in a day as a dietitian with goals to enjoy my food, stay satisfied, and have enough energy to get through my day as a mom of two. Stay til the end to hear my reflection on the day as we practice mindful eating together 🩵

What I ate on vacation - part 1 ✨
One thing to know about me is that I will never skip out on something delicious, while on vacation or not, just because it’s not “healthy.” Free giant choc chip cookies right after breakfast? Absolutely. Chips and guacamole alongside my tacos… duh! Food is meant to be enjoyed. Constantly worrying about calories, carbs, or “bad” ingredients is likely causing more harm to your body than just eating the dang food and moving on with a balanced approach. My advice? Fuel your body first - give it what it needs daily to function in a way that helps you feel your best physically - then enjoy whatever you want around that (likely without overdoing it since your body will be fueled and satisfied making it easy to stay balanced!)

What’s the BEST thing you ate last week?

Packing adequate filling and energizing foods for a day at work / on the go is VITAL to staying on track with your health goals and feeling your best while you get things done. ✨ See anything you’d add to your next lunchbox for a day out of the house? As a dietitian I always prioritize carbs, fiber, protein, healthy fats, and vitamins and minerals. Don’t forget lots of fluids too! Bringing water with you on the go is the first step to being successful with drinking it 😉 All of these components will help support your needs for energy, satisfaction, gut health, hydration, heart health, and hopefully happiness too🤗

A balanced lunch mid-blizzard to fuel me for shoveling (and entertaining two kids all day and night 😵‍💫😂). I enjoyed a chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat bread, a sumo orange, and some truffle chips. This combo hit the spot and provided a great balance of macronutrients (carbs, protein, healthy fats), along with plenty of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Also - Swipe to see a pic of the sneaky little 9 month old chip swiper that snuck into my photoshoot and almost knocked it all to the floor lol. 😏

A little food recap from last week 👌🏼😋 Which looks the most satisfying to you? This week felt very well balanced with nutritious meals and some indulgent moments that I still felt good through. And don’t forget - we don’t do food guilt around here. 😉🫶🏼
