We wanted to give you a heads-up about a short office closure coming up. Our administrative office will be closed from Thursday, July 30th through Monday, August 3rd.

Here’s what that means for you:

If you already have an appointment scheduled with one of our dietitians or our physician during this time, it is still happening as planned - no action needed on your end.
Insurance coverage questions, billing questions, and calls to the office will have limited availability and slower response times.
We’ll be back to normal office hours on Tuesday, August 4th, and will follow up on anything that came in while we were away.

Thank you for your patience and understanding! If something is urgent, please reach out, and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can once we’re back.

“Avoid all processed foods” is one of the most common pieces of nutrition advice I hear - and one of the most oversimplified.

Processed food exists on a spectrum. Frozen spinach is processed. Canned beans are processed. Calling all of it harmful does a disservice to the people who rely on these foods for affordable, convenient, and genuinely nutritious options.

What actually warrants attention is ultra-processed food - products that are heavily modified, stripped of nutrients, and packed with additives, refined oils, and added sugars. That’s a meaningful distinction.

“Processed” as a blanket category is not.

With clients, we talk about what’s actually in the food - not what aisle it came from. Fear-based eating rules tend to create more confusion than clarity, and this one is a good example of that.
