Let’s talk about something we see in almost every kitchen - extra virgin olive oil. 🫒

You’ve bought it, cooked with it, drizzled it on everything. But do you know what “extra virgin” actually means on the label?

Here’s the breakdown:

“Virgin” refers to how it’s made - the olives are pressed mechanically, with no heat and no chemicals. It’s one step from fruit to bottle.

“Extra” is about quality grade - the oil has to pass both a chemistry test (acidity below 0.8%) AND a tasting panel before it earns that label.

Together, EVOO is essentially fresh olive juice. Less processed, more flavor, more polyphenols retained.

And yes - it’s a great source of healthy fats. But it’s not a superfood, and other oils aren’t bad. Use what you enjoy, what fits your budget, and what works for how you cook.

Eating out doesn’t mean starting over. 🍕
Small swaps add up - grilled instead of fried, extra veggies, a side salad. But even when none of that happens? One meal out of 21+ for the week isn’t going to break your progress.

And yes - we’ll always remind you of this - but it’s worth saying again: all foods fit. A fried meal on occasion? Totally fine. We’re not here to demonize any food. The goal is your overall diet over the long term, not any single meal.

Our goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping you feel confident in every situation - including the drive-thru.

Had a wonderful evening at the Ronald McDonald Storytime Ball this past weekend! ❤️
It was especially meaningful knowing that owners Carissa and her husband, Ethan, have personally experienced the incredible support this organization provides. Their connection to this cause makes it all the more special. Grateful to support such an impactful organization that continues to make a real difference for families in the community
