This funding isn’t just a line item; it’s a lifeline for the programs that educate and train the next generation of midwives who will serve families and communities across the country. Accredited midwifery education programs support all nationally recognized midwifery credentials — Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), Certified Midwives (CMs), and Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs). Without this funding, these programs and the expanded access to midwifery-led care they make possible are at risk.

Every email, call, and conversation makes a difference in securing the future of midwifery care and birth center access!

Beautiful day with my 91 year-old Dad, showing off his garden, enjoying the sunshine. Every precious moment counts, and of course he’s still representing in his EMC Anniversary sweat shirt! It’s 45 years this month since I qualified as a State Certified Midwife/ Registered Midwife, 37 since I left for Florida, 11 years since James, and 9 years since my Mum transitioned - one thing is clear though, home is where the heart is (and the garden) and family is forever. There is no midwifery without family happy International Midwives Day to all my siblings, friends and allies, wherever you are in the world. . Love ya’ll!
