It's a small structural flex, but it's the kind of thing you feel before you notice it — more floor, easier to sweep, nothing to catch your foot on when the room's dark and the löyly's thick. Function first. It just happens to look good too.

The room is finished. The heater's set. The stones aren't in yet.

This is the quiet stretch right before a sauna becomes a sauna — before the first steam hits the rock and the whole room finally smells like itself. HUUM heater, real Estonian stone on the way, one Ridgeline closer to being someone's Saturday ritual.

Light shouldn't come from above in a sauna. It should come from behind the wood.

This is the detail that takes the longest to get right — the gap between slats has to be wide enough to let the glow through and narrow enough that you never see the fixture. Get it wrong and it looks like a bar. Get it right and the bench just seems to hold its own warmth.

Our first commission, from the inside.

A milestone we've been building toward — the first Ridgeline made for a home, photographed on the shop floor before it heads up the mountain. The details are where the hours go: benches tiered so you can actually stretch out, a backrest that floats off the wall, and light tucked behind the slats so the glow rises out of the wood instead of glaring down from above.

The interior is Lunawood ThermoWood — warmed, not chemically treated — so it stays true underfoot at temperature and ages the way good wood should. In the corner, a HUUM heater, set and ready for real stone, real steam, a real löyly.

The first one we built for a client.

There’s a particular quiet to opening the door on a commission that’s nearly finished. Tiered benches you can stretch out on, light tucked behind the slats so the glow comes from the wood and not a fixture, and a HUUM heater set and waiting for its first löyly. Built by hand on the shop floor, then sent up the mountain to the home it was drawn for.

One at a time, for one home at a time. That’s the whole idea.
