Why is everyone suddenly obsessed with protein?

Protein bars, protein shakes, high-protein snacks, and meals seem to be everywhere you look lately. While some of it is definitely marketing, protein truly is an essential nutrient that plays a major role in overall health and wellness.

Protein helps support:
• Muscle growth and maintenance
• Energy and blood sugar balance
• Hormone production
• Immune function
• Tissue repair and healing
• Feeling fuller longer after meals

Many people are actually not eating enough quality protein throughout the day, especially at breakfast. When protein intake is too low, it can contribute to increased cravings, low energy, muscle loss, slower recovery, and difficulty maintaining a healthy weight.

That being said, more is not always better. Not everyone needs excessive amounts of protein or expensive supplements. The key is finding balance and choosing quality protein sources that fit your body’s needs and lifestyle.
