🐶☀️ Hot Weather Can Mean More Dog Bites

Did you know dog bites tend to increase during hot weather? Higher temperatures can make dogs more uncomfortable and reactive, making it even more important to recognize their body language and give them space. Research has found that dog bite incidents increase on hotter, sunnier days.

Dr. Craig Matticks, Medical Director of The Urgency Room recently spoke with CCX Media about dog bites becoming more common during the summer and what you can do if your child is bitten by a dog.🐾

If a dog bite does happen, prompt medical evaluation is important to reduce the risk of infection and determine if additional treatment is needed.
