Grace I. Mosley, YCSO (Ret.) passed away peacefully at her home in West Sacramento, on Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026. She was 93 years old.

Grace started work at the Yolo County Sheriff's Office in 1975 and retired on July 31, 1996. She worked in Finance/Accounting for many years, and is remembered by many of us as always being a warm, friendly lady, who always made sure we got paid (and that our budgets were accurate!).

Grace is also fondly remembered by her neighbors as "The Mayor of Linden Acres."

Plans for memorial service are pending at this time.

Sgt. Howard R. Hawkins, CHP (Ret.) passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was 80 years old. Howard was assigned to the Woodland Area Office for a number of years in the 1990s.

🛴 Know Before You Ride!

Whether you're commuting, running errands, or just enjoying a ride around Woodland, e-scooters are a fun and convenient way to travel. Riders are responsible for knowing and following California law to help keep everyone safe.

California law requires e-scooter riders to have a valid California driver's license or learner's permit, riders under 18 to wear a helmet, and limits e-scooter speeds to 15 mph. E-scooters may not be ridden on sidewalks, and only one person is permitted per scooter.

These laws are designed to reduce crashes, prevent injuries, and improve safety for riders, pedestrians, and motorists alike. A few simple choices can make a big difference when sharing the road.
