POSTPARTUM BODY...⭐️
“For every woman wanting to hide her postpartum body, there is another one dreaming she could show it off”
Yes, agree, but once you give credit to your body for the miracle of making life you might feel: ... my body is amazing but... I don’t like what I see...
This will be different for each woman, some might feel:.. I looked at myself and I don’t recognise me.
I would be lying if I say that I love what my body has become.
I can’t feel the empowerment of the bruises that birth left behind, I don’t feel enjoyment of how pregnancy left my body.
I don’t like what I see and it makes me nervous to think that I’m not going to have my body back ever.
These are very unpopular thoughts... thoughts that many of us will have during postpartum, thoughts that normally people try to replace with... but look at your healthy baby! You have made a human! And that’s amazing!
Yes, it is amazing, I never said otherwise.
I am grateful for my body, but I might not like my postpartum body.
And this is ok, this doesn’t make you selfish, doesn’t make you ungrateful, this doesn’t make you a worse mother.
Your body has changed, your body has created life and that has brought new shapes, new marks that you might love, you might not like or you might even feel disgusted about.
Your feelings about your postpartum body matter and are real.
The last thing that we need when we are feeling this is someone who tells us that our feelings are unfair because at least we have a baby.
If you don’t like your body it is ok to say it! And to try to do whatever you can to feel better about it.
If you love your postpartum body it is amazing!
All of us we have plenty of reasons to feel completely in love of our body every day, regardless whether you like it or not.
It’s important to be gentle to ourselves, to give us time to heal and to feel ok with our honest thoughts about our body ♥️.
⁉️How do you feel about your postpartum body?
⁉️Do you see your postpartum body much different than your pre pregnancy body?..
