Gilly's House, Inc.

Gilly's House, Inc. Gilly's House is a non-profit residential program for men who are struggle with addiction. GIlly loved people fully and unconditionally.

GIlly's House was established in memory of Steven Gillmeister, Gilly, who passed away from a heroin overdose October 24, 2016 at the age of 25. GIlly had a big smile and an even bigger heart, and those who were close to him knew of his ability to light up a room and make friends wherever he went. He was always joking and laughing and could make you laugh no matter what kind of day you were having.

He would make up songs to cheer you up if you were having a bad day, and would drop anything to help someone in need. HE had hundreds of friends literally around the world, from California to Israel and Maine he touched the lives of countless people. Gilly began using drugs first as a social user, but later became addicted to opiates and heroin, which led to a long life of detox, recovery, rehab, sober living and relapse. Even during his struggle, Gilly was actively helping other addicts find ways to turn their lives around. He had a passion for helping others. Steven had the most success and comfort living in a sober home. With Gilly's House we hope to carry out hs legacy and continue to help those in need.

What a beautiful day today at Gilly’s House! ❤️🌞
Our residents were treated to a very interesting and therapeutic Expressive Arts class led by Leslie. It was a wonderful opportunity for the men to be creative, reflect, and express themselves in a different way.
And while the class was going on, we suddenly heard those familiar ice cream truck bells ringing in the Gilly’s House parking lot! 🍦 Teresa Fernald from C&C Ice Cream of Norfolk nstopped by to surprise everyone with a special Labor Day treat. What a wonderful gift!🎁
And to top off this beautiful day, Nick, one of our amazing support staff members, prepared an incredible dinner of ribs, steak, chicken, and all the fixings! 🥩🍗 With 🌽 donated by Tri-Town Farm of Norfolk. 😋
Days like today remind us that Gilly’s House is so much more than a sober home. It truly is a home, a community, and a house of hope.
We are so blessed to have such incredible people surrounding our residents and supporting them on their journey of recovery.
Thank you, Leslie, Teresa, C&C Ice Cream, JD Janes Tri-Town Farm and Nick for making today so special. We are truly grateful! www.gillyshouse.org 💜

Every meaningful conversation, shared responsibility, and encouraging word helps build something stronger.

At Gilly's House, residents find more than a structured living environment—they become part of a community where mutual respect, accountability, and encouragement are part of everyday life.

Recovery is strengthened through connection, and those connections often become the foundation for lasting change.

🎉 Celebrating Recovery & New Beginnings at Gilly’s House
Tonight, we had the honor of celebrating two of our residents who have reached an incredible milestone — 2 YEARS of sobriety and recovery at Gilly’s House! 🎉👏
Two years of choosing recovery. Two years of showing up, doing the work, facing challenges, and continuing to move forward, one day at a time and one step at a time.
Gilly’s House is so much more than a sober men’s recovery house. It’s a home. It’s a family. And it’s a house of hope. 🏠💜
We are incredibly proud of these two amazing men and couldn’t be happier for them. Watching them change their lives, grow, and build a better future is exactly why Gilly’s House exists.
A very special thank you to Kristina Tyree of Franklin for helping us make tonight even more special by providing a beautiful meal for the men, along with an ice cream cake and a chocolate cake! 🎂🍨 Your kindness and generosity mean so much to all of us at Gilly’s House. 💕
Congratulations to our two residents on 2 years! We are so proud of you both. Keep moving forward, keep believing in yourselves, and remember — the best is yet to come. 🙏 To donate a meal to Gilly's House, please visit our. website www.gillyshouse.org , click on DONATE tab to bring you to 2 meal donation links with all the information and instructions. Dear Barbara,
Last night I led a Boston Bulldogs Running Club "Running and Wellness" presentation at Gilly's House in Wrentham, MA. It was my first time there. One of the residents, Paul, gave me a brief tour, and then we convened the group on the back patio. Two other members of the Bulldogs, Sam and PJ, also participated.
We do a lot of these presentations at various sober houses, recovery centers, and correctional facilities—approximately 120 last year alone—but what struck us most was the profound pride that the men have for Gilly's House. It is clearly above and beyond other recovery facilities that they—and we ourselves—have experienced before. It is a home for them, and they are deeply appreciative and using this opportunity to grow and reclaim their shattered lives. We were especially impressed with the seriousness and intentionality that each man is giving to his recovery journey.
You are changing lives, Barbara. We were deeply honored to witness it firsthand.
Sincerely,
Jim

Thank you, Marcus Vaughn, and Sam, for spending time with us today at Gilly’s House! 🧡
We truly appreciated the opportunity to sit down together and have an important conversation about the opioid settlement funds and how these funds can be used to make a real difference in our communities and support those impacted by addiction and recovery.
Marcus Vaughn is running for re-election as State Representative for the 9th Norfolk District, which includes the towns of Norfolk, Wrentham, Plainville, Millis, Medfield, and Walpole.
Thank you, Marcus, for listening, for caring, and for taking the time to learn more about Gilly’s House and the needs of the men we serve. We appreciate your continued support of recovery and the work happening in our communities.
And thank you to Sam for joining us as well! We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to make a difference.
