Happy 4th of July!! ❤️🤍💙 I adored supporting this family for the second time, and mama crushed her unmedicated labor once again. 💪🏻

Dad was delighted to have his “freedom girl” who chose today for her birthday and I was honored to be asked to cut the cord. ❤️ Entering the world while the sky danced with lightning and fireworks, this girl has big things ahead.

When the hospital will only “allow” a client to continue laboring in the shower if someone agrees to hold the fetal heart rate monitor in the correct position…your doula is first in line for the water fun 🙋🏻‍♀️ 💦🌊🚿

…and thankful that she always carries a change of clothes 😆

Being a doula has no shortage of bright spots & rewarding moments. ♥️ This text from a previous client was the highlight of my day today. “If I had to describe what a doula does…I would say she is like a lighthouse; reflecting back a mother’s own strength as she navigates the waves of labor, steady, grounded, and reminding her that the power to birth has always been within her.”

Of all the full-circle moments this work gives me, this one is close to my heart 🤍

Almost exactly two years ago, I had the honor of supporting a mama as she welcomed her first baby into the world. And last week, I found myself back by her side again—supporting her through birth for the second time. Power. Strength. Tenderness. A whole new chapter.

Today’s postpartum visit happened on the eve of her first child’s birthday. We reminisced, admired the fresh baby, giggled and read books with the almost-two-year-old. And we talked about how amazing it is to love each of your children so completely.

Being invited back into someone’s birth space is one of the greatest honors I know.

Watching a family grow, and holding space for these once-in-a-lifetime moments—this is the heart of a doula. Forever grateful. 💕💘

Yesterday I had the absolute privilege of supporting a first time mom as she CRUSHED her labor every step of the way, and delivered her beautiful baby girl sunny-side up! (direct OP for my birth friends) 🤩

On Sunday evening, I told my family that I would likely be called out overnight…and my oldest son promptly went out & cleared the snow and ice off my car and made sure the driveway was clear too. 🥰❄️

Today I am delivering these lactation cookies to one of my clients and her 1-week-old baby and we will chat all about feeding, birth recovery, and sleep (or lack thereof). It’s a beautiful day to be a doula!
