New Motherhood Support Group Coming Soon!

Excited to begin offering a group designed for mothers navigating all stages of motherhood. It is intended to be a welcoming, supportive space to connect, share experiences, find encouragement, and heal alongside other moms from all walks of life.

This group is currently in the early stages of planning, with interest being gauged in order to determine group size, location, and dates/time. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in and a group dynamic has piqued your interest, scan the QR code or follow the link below - I'd love to hear from you!

Working to improve our own self-management and regulation in order to hold this kind of space for our children is one of the best and often most difficult gifts we can offer, especially through elevated behaviors. This does not mean being perfect, but it does mean intentionally showing up for both our kids and ourselves every day. 🫶

One of the biggest pressures many parents and carers face is the feeling that they are expected to “fix” a child’s behaviour.

It’s not always said directly, but it can often be felt in meetings, school conversations, reports, and the way progress is measured.

“How quickly are things improving?”“Are the behaviours reducing?”“What strategies are working?”

Sometimes it can feel as though healing should follow a clear timeline — that with the right support, the right parenting, or the right intervention, everything should begin to settle quickly and neatly. But children who have experienced trauma don’t heal in straight lines.

When you’re caring for a child who has lived through loss, fear, instability, or difficult early experiences, it’s easy to start feeling under pressure yourself. You can find yourself focusing so much on behaviours and outcomes that you lose sight of what the child may actually be communicating underneath it all.

Children who have experienced trauma do not need “fixing.”

They need to feel safe. They need consistency. They need connection. They need adults who can stay alongside them, even when progress feels slow, messy, or uncertain.

In my experience, the real shift often happens when we stop asking, “How do we stop this behaviour?” and start asking, “What might this child be needing from us right now?”

That isn’t always easy, especially when families feel watched, judged, or under pressure to show visible progress. But meaningful, lasting change rarely comes through pressure or quick fixes.

It grows through safety, trust, patience, and relationships built over time.

Our 3rd session of Serenity Sundays offered an opportunity to slow down, tune into our sense of touch and self-awareness, while allowing horses and nature to guide us in the exploration. Slowness is such a gift to the nervous system, and to be able to experience this in a group of supportive women is hard to fully put into words.

We have some spots left for the last session of the series, on May 31st. We'd love to see you there.

"The quieter you become, the more you can hear." - Ram Dass
The idea explores the concept of slowing down enough to create inner stillness, with a nod toward taking the world in through our sense of hearing. This past Sunday, for our second session of Serenity Sundays, we intentionally explored this very thing. What an honor it was to facilitate this opportunity alongside Stable Space. It's always such a gift to be in the presence of a group of people practicing intentional connection while giving themselves the gift of stillness.

We have two more sessions coming up in May and have some limited spots available. Hope to see you there.

Be well.
