⚡ WHY CAN YOUR SHOULDER FEEL WEAK WITHOUT MUCH PAIN?
You lift your arm...
Try to rotate it outward...
But something feels strangely weak.
You train harder.
Still weak.
The problem may not be the muscle itself.
THE ANATOMY
The **Suprascapular Nerve** supplies the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles.
It travels through the suprascapular notch and continues toward the posterior shoulder.
THE BIOMECHANICS
When the nerve is compressed:
1️⃣ neural signals to the muscle can decrease
2️⃣ muscle activation becomes less effective
3️⃣ shoulder strength and movement control may decline
Compression can occur at different points along the nerve pathway.
THE TAKEAWAY
Sometimes a “weak shoulder muscle” isn’t simply a muscle problem.
The signal controlling the muscle may be the missing piece.
