DHQ Hospital Dassu Kohistan Upper – Eid-ul-Azha 2026 Performance Report

During the Eid-ul-Azha period (26–29 May 2026), DHQ Hospital Dassu Kohistan Upper successfully provided uninterrupted 24/7 healthcare services to the community. A total of 411 patients received clinical consultations, while 50 patients were admitted for further treatment. The hospital conducted 194 laboratory investigations and 25 X-ray examinations, ensuring timely diagnosis and management of patients.

The Emergency Department remained highly active, managing 348 emergency cases over four days. In maternity services, 21 normal deliveries were conducted safely, and 2 surgical procedures were performed. Common illnesses treated included 81 cases of loose motion, 33 respiratory infections, 23 URTI cases, and 23 urinary tract infections (UTIs).

The hospital also managed 5 road traffic accident cases, 1 dog/snake bite case, and 16 psycho-social cases, including anxiety and other mental health concerns. These statistics reflect the dedication and commitment of the medical, nursing, and support staff in delivering quality healthcare services throughout the Eid holidays.

Old age female presented to ER with pain in lower abdomen for more than 24hrs, examination was conclusive for acute abdomen likely perforated appendix,after thorough preop workup and assessment for GA fitness shifted to OT and mini laparotomy done, findings were gangrenous appendix involving base with wrapped omentum forming mass found,appendectomy done, patient recovered smoothly and shifted to ward for further post op care

A patient presented to the ER with complaints of lower abdominal pain for the last 3 days. On clinical examination and investigations perforated appendix was suspected.
During surgery findings were completely gangrenous appendix with perforation pus throughout the abdomen and a large fecolith impacted at the junction extending up to the base of the appendix.
Emergency surgery was performed successfully no2 the patient is currently in post-operative care under close observation.
