Allowing your children to heal from wounds and trauma in which you played a part without denying, minimizing, or becoming defensive about their experiences is a cyclical ending of its own. Learning not to let the ego feel victimized or threatened is another layer of healing. You are breaking cycles within cycles.
When you were not healed enough, developed enough, or loved properly yourself, it can shape the way you loved your children and contribute to their future anxieties. That is painful to accept, but acceptance is where healing begins. It is okay to acknowledge it without drowning in shame, and it is okay to hold compassion for yourself without resenting them for their truth. 🖤
