Here’s why 👇
If you’re taking a GLP-1 medication, these are two supplements I talk about all the time.

đź’§ Electrolytes
GLP-1 medications can decrease appetite, which sometimes means people unintentionally drink less. They can also cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, especially when first starting or increasing the dose. Staying hydrated and replacing electrolytes can help support hydration, particularly if you’re losing fluids.

đź’Ş Creatine
One of my biggest concerns with GLP-1 medications isn’t just losing weight—it’s losing muscle.

Creatine, combined with adequate protein and regular strength training, can help support muscle performance and make it easier to preserve lean muscle while losing weight.

The biggest mistake I see?

People focus only on the number on the scale.

My goal is to help patients lose fat while protecting muscle because muscle is incredibly important for strength, metabolism, bone health, and healthy aging.

These two supplements aren’t magic—but they can be valuable tools alongside:
✔️ Prioritizing protein
✔️ Strength training
✔️ Staying hydrated
✔️ Following your healthcare provider’s recommendations

Do you take either of these? Let me know below! 👇

MUST have BTS for pre-teen girls!

Our girls deserve to be prepared for starting their period so they can feel confident in the moment.

It’s also helpful to keep a period pack in your car during these ages as well!
Heck- that’s helpful at any age!

Comment TAG to grab a ready made tag to include inside of the pack.

And let’s chat, what age did you start your period? Do you remember where you were? Were you prepared?

If you work in healthcare, what are your thoughts?
Would you want your kids to live with this level of stress?

I can’t wait to take a little time away from work but I am preparing ahead of time to make sure I stay on track while we are at the beach!

Don’t worry, there will definitely be nightly ice cream trips and plenty of seafood- but I’ll be continuing to prioritize protein and fiber so I can feel my best while I’m there!

There are also certain supplements that are important enough to make it into my suitcase!
Comment LINKS to grab the ones that are coming!

And head to Sam's Club or Walmart to graby go to fairlife shakes and Ready® bars!

I’m dying to know what you think of this situation and if you have ever experienced anything like this personally?

Bottom line, working in medicine is absolutely terrifying.
I go home most nights worried about whether or not I have made the right decisions throughout my day. Knowing the weight that each one of those decisions carries.

| For years, I focused almost entirely on what products I was buying.

Third-party testing.
Ingredient quality.
Brand reputation.

But recently, I realized I wasn’t putting nearly as much thought into where I was buying them.

As a Family Medicine PA—and honestly just someone who’s intentional about the products I bring into my home—I think where you buy matters just as much as what you buy.

That’s one of the reasons I was excited to partner with iHerb

I was surprised by how many of the brands I already purchase for my family are available there, including Molly’s Suds, NOW Foods, and Micro Ingredients, Mild by Nature and Ultima Instead of ordering from multiple websites, I can shop many of my trusted brands in one place.

Another feature I really appreciate is that iHerb stores products in climate-controlled, certified facilities designed to help preserve freshness, and expiration dates are clearly listed before you purchase. When I’m investing in supplements and wellness products, those details matter to me.

If you’ve never browsed iHerb before, check out their daily deals at iHerb.com, and don’t forget to use my code MADISON22 for 22% off orders of $60+ for all customers!

I’d love to know—what’s one wellness product you buy over and over again?

The GLP-1 bone health story just got more interesting. đź‘€

For months, many people have been worried that GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide automatically increase the risk of osteoporosis because rapid weight loss can contribute to bone loss.

The truth?

It’s more complicated than that.

Several newer studies have found that semaglutide was associated with similar or even lower fracture risk compared with some other medications in people with type 2 diabetes, although these studies don’t prove that the medication itself protects bone. Other research has shown mixed results, which is why experts are still studying this closely. (Endocrine Society)

Here’s the part we do know:

đź’Ş Prioritize protein.
🏋️ Strength train regularly.
🥛 Make sure you’re meeting your calcium and vitamin D needs if appropriate.
🩺 Talk with your healthcare provider about your individual fracture risk, especially if you’re postmenopausal or have osteoporosis.

The goal isn’t just losing weight.

It’s preserving muscle, protecting bone, and improving your long-term health.

What’s a bad rumor you’ve heard about GLP-1?

“God doesn’t withhold good from his children. He gives better than we knew to ask for.”(Cleere Cherry Reaves- Be Still)

As someone who has been in seasons of BEGGING followed by seasons of gratitude, more begging then more gratitude - I look back and try to pick apart the WHY.

Why did God make me wait?
Why did God choose the hard path for me?
Why didn’t He step in sooner?
Is this what He really wanted?

Am I missing something?!

But the honest answer is, sometimes I just can’t answer those questions. No matter how hard I try.

Other times the “Why” is perfectly apparent.
And I love that- being able to put the puzzle together for myself.

But I try to always remember (and sometimes need a reminder from someone else) that our God is good. He has the full picture and if it makes sense to Him then it has to be ok with me.

What prayers have gone unanswered for you? Were you able to look back and see the greater “Why” behind it?

Navigating women’s health and hormones can feel like you’re stuck in a maze.

When Mira asked me to be part of their “A Woman’s Maze” campaign, I immediately said yes… because I know women’s bodies feel like a literal maze and I literally have to Google “Is it normal?” too.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself asking…

🤍 Is it normal for my periods to suddenly be heavier?
🤍 Is it normal to feel exhausted but then lie awake at night?
🤍 Is it normal to feel like my brain just isn’t firing on all cylinders?
🤍 Is it normal if my hormone labs are “normal,” but I don’t feel normal?
🤍 Is it really possible for this to start in my 30s?

The funny thing is…I’m a Family Medicine PA. I spend my days helping patients navigate these exact questions.

But when it comes to my own hormones? I’ve found myself asking them too.

That’s why this campaign resonated with me. Perimenopause can look different for every woman, and so many of us are left wondering if what we’re experiencing is “normal.”

One of the things I appreciate about Mira is that they’re encouraging women to better understand what’s happening in their bodies so they can have more informed conversations with their healthcare providers. Instead of feeling like they are stuck in a maze with no idea where to turn.

We deserve answers—and we deserve to know we’re not alone in asking the questions.
So tell me…

What’s your biggest “Is it normal?” question? 👇 I have a feeling a lot of us are wondering the exact same things.
