The mom hack I didn’t know I needed 😮‍💨🌸

Clothes can be tricky when you’re nursing especially if you love high neck tops and dresses. I found these adorable little gingham shorts and now I’m finally wearing all my cute outfits I thought would be gathering dust for the next year or so! 🤩

Thanks for the tip 💕

There is the saying “hold the mother, not the baby” ❤️

Meaning… hold the mother. Support her. Encourage her. Listen to her. Help fill her cup. And she’ll radiate and let all that love and fullness flow into her baby too 🦋

Whether you’re a mother or not, I encourage you to check in on the mothers you know. Send them a text, invite them to dinner, grab them a coffee, tell them they’re doing a good job. It all means so much 💘

And if you know someone who is about to have a baby or has a little newborn, the greatest gift you can offer is your presence and a warm meal!

I put together all the best nourishing recipes for mothers to heal and replenish after birth in Nourished Postpartum ~ comment MEALS and I’ll send over the link! It’s such a helpful resource for you or others and it’s just $27

One of my favorite moments with her so far 💘

How old was your baby for their first visit to the ocean?

I hope she loves the water as much as I do and can forever be my beach girl 🌊

Honest thoughts 👇

➡️who you have at your birth matters. ONLY allow people at your birth who are calming, make you feel safe and respect your birth vision. I don’t care if your MIL or aunt wants to be there. If they don’t meet that criteria, it’s a no and it’s a bigger red flag honestly if they make a big deal out of it

➡️you deserve to have a provider who respects you and honors your vision. If your doctor or midwife is acting like your birth plan is inconvenient or silly, run babe. If they seem skeptical about something that’s important to you like delayed cord clamping or immediate skin to skin or whatever is on your list, seriously find a better provider. If they don’t respect your informed decisions, they are far more likely to interfere and disturb your birth

➡️you have a choice, ALWAYS. No provider can “force you” to do anything. Don’t want continuous fetal monitoring? State that. Don’t want a bunch of students in the room watching? Let them know that ahead of time. Want to be at home and not have any cervical checks? Let the midwife know. Part of being a mother is knowing what is right for you and baby and speaking up

➡️birth where you feel safe. If you genuinely feel safer in a hospital, that’s valid! If you’re a low risk pregnancy and feel much safer at home, that’s great! A mother needs to feel safe to have a natural birth. This can happen at home, a birthing center or a hospital (especially if you have done the things I mentioned above to have a good provider and support team)

➡️most women will do better in an undisturbed birth. When we start meddling with medically unnecessary procedures (inducing simply because one is 40 weeks or breaking waters just to get things going) we increase risk of further intervention
