Our home feels very empty without Millie’s peaceful presence ❤️🩹 and yesterday my oldest and last surviving hen from my original flock passed away.
At 6 years old Raven had seen a lot of hens come and go. She was strong and fierce and despite multiple flock changes, she always maintained her rank in the pecking order - even Jon knew not to mess with her.
I’m sat nursing a cuppa, watching my girls scratching and contemplating the combined joy and heartache that keeping animals brings.
