My name is Dr. Ryo Iguchi, and I am honored to introduce myself to this wonderful community.
My journey in medicine began when I graduated from Niigata University School of Medicine in 2015. Since then, I have dedicated myself to training as a Hospitalist, focusing on comprehensive patient care.
Many of you might recognize me from my time as a Japanese Fellow at Yokota Air Base from 2022 to 2023. Serving the community there was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I was deeply humbled to receive the "Trusted Care Hero" award and the "Commander’s Challenge Coin" during my fellowship.
While I initially planned to pursue clinical training in the U.S., I ultimately decided to stay in Japan to build a bridge between the local healthcare system and the military community. After studying hospital management, I founded Yokota Sakura Clinic this March, located just a 1-minute walk from Ushihama Station.
Our Mission:
We are starting small, currently focusing on Medical Weight Management. However, my vision for this clinic goes much further. I want to be a reliable resource for everyone—especially those with Space-A status (Veterans, Contractors, and Families) who may find it challenging to get timely appointments on base.
Whether it's navigating emergency transfers to local hospitals or simply providing a medical home where you are understood in English, I am here to help.
This clinic is my way of "Giving Back" to the community that has given me so much support and inspiration.
I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to message us or stop by!
Warm regards,
Dr. Ryo Iguchi
