Working in mental health and substance use can be rewarding.
You get to be there to guide, ignite , and inspire.
To walk along those who have forgotten the sacred code within that says we are truly whole.
What’s not seen, or taken for granted is those who work in this field. The humans who work with humans.
We know what’s shared behind closed doors. We’ve seen the pieces picked up and taped together until they are glued. We heard the words, we saw the tears and fears.
The walls of the rooms we work in don’t forget what happens inside them.
Sometimes those walls swallow you whole , in slow methodical shreds , or you come out strong enough to hold the walls from falling in.
This experiences binds you for a lifetime.
I never ever forget the incredible humans, the clinicians I’ve worked side by side with. I forever choose to learn from them, and be a part of their teams. To sit at their tables , where they saved me a seat. No teammate is ever forgotten. No matter the impact. Small, or the shoes that can never be filled.
For my clinician family. Near and extended
Take care of yourselves.
All parts of you, and if you feel like you can’t, and you need a place to lean. Know I am that safe place.
