Another day, another patient to support.

We were asked to help a new patient after a long hospital stay following a severe infection. Our goal now is to help her regain strength at home.

Today we were able to act quickly: she was severely dehydrated, so we contacted her doctor immediately, who started IV fluids to help prevent another hospital admission. We also provided an air mattress to reduce pressure injuries and a shower chair to make daily care safer.

Home care is about more than treatment—it’s about giving people the best chance to recover in the comfort of their own home.

We’re here for our patients every day.

Today was one of those days.

We accompanied one of our patients to the bank, helping him with everyday tasks that have become difficult on his own. Afterwards, we picked up a comfortable reclining chair for another patient living with dementia, so he can sit more comfortably, rest better, and enjoy a little more quality of life.

And to make the day even more special, we celebrated the birthday of one of our lovely patients with dementia. 🎂 Every smile, every moment of joy, and every little celebration matters.

Home care is about so much more than nursing. It’s about being there, preserving dignity, creating comfort, and bringing kindness into everyday life.

Every day is a little different, but our mission is always the same: helping people live safely and happily at home. 💛

From cooking a favorite meal, keeping the house clean, doing the laundry, providing physiotherapy and relaxing massages, changing dressings, accompanying our clients to doctor’s appointments, or simply sharing a walk and a smile—we’re there for whatever is needed.

It’s often the little things that bring the greatest comfort and make each day a little brighter.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments in our work are the quiet ones.

Recently, we cared for a gentleman in the final stage of cancer. His only wish was simple and deeply human — he did not want to pass away in a hospital or hospice, but at home.

We organized everything as quickly as possible and brought him home that same afternoon. The next morning I saw his smile and on middays he passed away peacefully, surrounded by a calm and loving environment with us and his son.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. It is a privilege to support people in such a personal and important part of their journey.

A small moment that means so much

We are caring for our lovely Thai mama here on Koh Samui. Her daughter lives in America and cannot be with her every day, so it is very important for us to bring a little joy back into her life.

We learned that she used to love working in the garden. So we had the idea I bring a simple wooden plant stand, where she could gently get involved again – at her own pace.

To be honest, we weren’t sure if it would work…
But now, after some time, it is truly beautiful to see:

She has found joy in it again
She takes care of the plants with love 🌸
And she smiles when something starts to grow and bloom

The most special part is:
We can even use the herbs and vegetables for cooking – something she helped create herself

It reminds us how powerful small things can be.
Memories that seem far away can sometimes come back to life through the simplest moments.

And we are so grateful that we can be part of that journey

Sometimes, it’s no longer about healing.
It’s about being there.

This week, I received two messages from families on Koh Samui who have lost a loved one. One case was earlier this week, and another will be on Monday.

In these moments, people are often far away from home, facing everything on their own, with many questions and uncertainty.

I help to guide them through what needs to be done — organizing documents, coordinating with hospitals and authorities, preparing the temple and the ceremony.

But more importantly, it is about creating space for a peaceful and dignified farewell.

At the end, we cannot change what has happened.
But we can make sure that everything is handled with respect, calm, and compassion.

It is never easy.
But it is part of life.
