Exercise is not a punishment for bad eating or lifestyle choices, nor is it only for achieving the “perfect” body.
••
For women over 40, it’s one of the most powerful things you can do for your health.
••
As we move through perimenopause and menopause, our bodies naturally lose muscle mass, bone density and strength. Our metabolism changes, balance can decline, and the risk of osteoporosis and falls increases.
••
Strength training helps fight back.
••
It builds and preserves muscle, strengthens bones, improves balance, supports joint health, boosts metabolism, increases energy, and can even improve mood, sleep and confidence.
••
The goal isn’t to be the smallest version of yourself.
••
The goal is to be the strongest.
••
To be able to lift your grandchildren, carry the shopping, travel with confidence, get up off the floor with ease, and continue doing the things you love well into your 60s, 70s and beyond.
••
Don’t train because you hate your body.
••
Train because you love it enough to give it the best chance of aging well.
Your future self will thank you. 🩷💪
