✨ Building Confidence, Connections, and Self-Esteem ✨
Thank you Amy's Active Learning for hosting

Our Girls Self-Esteem Builder Group had another wonderful evening together filled with laughter, reflection, and creativity!

The girls explored what makes each of them unique by creating a Strength Web, sharing personal strengths and discussing how our strengths are developed and grow through experiences, challenges, and relationships.

We also played a fun “Would You Rather?” Self-Esteem Edition, encouraging positive thinking, communication, and getting to know one another. Through our Bucket Filler activity, the girls practiced recognizing kindness and the impact our words and actions have on ourselves and others.

To wrap up the evening, each participant created a personalized Calming Coping Bag filled with tools and strategies they can use when facing stress, worries, or big emotions.

It is always inspiring to watch these girls encourage one another, build friendships, and recognize the many strengths they already possess. 💜

As a Certified Child Life Specialist, I love using play and creative activities to help children develop important coping and emotional regulation skills.

Today, a child explored flexibility and managing feelings when things don’t go as expected. Using markers and water, we created art without knowing exactly what the final product would look like. As the colors spread and changed, we talked about how uncertainty can bring up feelings such as frustration, disappointment, or worry when our projects don’t turn out the way we imagined.

Together, we practiced recognizing those feelings and discussed ways to cope with them. The child was encouraged to notice that even when something looks different than expected, it can still be beautiful and meaningful.

Learning to tolerate uncertainty, adapt to change, and manage big feelings are skills that support children far beyond art projects. Through play and hands-on experiences, children can safely practice flexibility and build confidence in navigating life’s unexpected moments.
