Georgina of dad_dementia_and_me is One of our newest (but quickly becoming one of my favorite) Carenected Community member!

Alzheimer’s Disease & all forms of Dementia are GLOBAL ISSUES, and is another international (outside of the U.S.) caregiver of a parent that has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Her father’s diagnosis came only in January 2021, and that’s when she started sharing her & her father’s journey. What I really respect about Georgina is that she has no problem painting and sharing the FULL caregiver experience: the good, the bad, and the mental drain that comes with being the primary CG. She also has a her own style to her page’s content both in the pictures and her writing style which I personally find 🔥🙌👏

By sharing the full spectrum of emotions caregivers may face, Georgina is providing current and future caregivers a much more realistic firsthand view of what this disease is really like; as it is not all smiles and hugs as most stock photos lead you to believe…

So community, what do you say we welcome and give her a follow today!

Sam of joined our community a while back and helped spread the Carenected Community to the UK! Sam’s story is a unique one in that she is a live-in carer! Sam is always spreading positivity, or awareness for Alzheimer’s/ Dementia, and I highly recommend you give her a follow today! Thanks Sam for all you do!

I can’t believe it took me this long to s/o Benita of !!!! About 6 months ago, Carenect was an account that only shared positive quotes because I was too afraid of “losing” my job w/ a home care agency; and the website didn’t have any sort of direction or future. Then, right as I was contemplating dropping it all, Benita randomly followed & dm’ed me. She invited me on her podcast, and after we shared more and more dm’s back & forth that night, I asked to feature her podcast/RSS feed on the website. To my surprise, she was just as thrilled by this and actually said yes. That night’s convo would literally change my life forever as it gave me the confidence to continue improving and working, especially knowing that I no longer on my own as Benita had my back. Long story short…I’m currently happier than I’ve ever been, helping more people than I could have ever imagined, and making a difference in the world…but in the process I’ve become my best & true self….and I owe so much to other member of my first

~btw Of course I brought Benita along to I-Ally, and our care tribe grew a little more, and continues to grow everyday!~

Anna of is a newer contributor to our community, but don’t let that take away from her message! After caring for her mother who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, Anna decided to help as many families as she can as a caregiver coach. I personally can relate to the challenges she experiences/will experience as a dementia coach, since I performed similar duties as an in-home Client Care Manager. Unfortunately, no one has ever beaten or recovered from Alzheimer’s Disease…so the more families you help the more grief you personally may experience as your clients pass on; however, being there for families while they struggle to comprehend their loved one’s diagnosis, and establishing a plan of care for them to follow can (and will) make ALL the difference for the family.
