Premenstrual breast pain is also called cyclic mastalgia. It’s common and caused by hormonal changes before a period, leading to pain or tenderness, and fluid retention in the breasts.

Symptoms can be mild or severe and usually improve after the period starts. The symptoms can vary in intensity from month to month.

Premenstrual breast tenderness is usually caused by the rise in oestrogen and progesterone before your period. This causes milk ducts and glands to swell and retain fluid. The increased fluid puts pressure on nerves in the breasts, making them feel achy and swollen.

Magnesium is an important mineral that is involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body. It plays important roles in muscle and nerve function, energy production, bone development and DNA development. Many people are low in magnesium and don’t even realise. 🤔

Possible symptoms of low magnesium:
🔷Muscle cramps or twitching
🔷Low energy
🔷Headaches
🔷Poor sleep
🔷Anxiety and low mood
🔷Premenstrual tension

Possible causes of low magnesium:
🔶Poor dietary intake of magnesium-containing foods
🔶Gut damage
🔶Certain medications
🔶High sugar/ processed diet
🔶Alcohol
🔶Regular sweating e.g. exercise
🔶High stress

What makes our magnesium so unique and superior to other brands?

✅We have combined 4 different forms of magnesium in this formula. We have excluded magnesium oxide from our formula as it is poorly absorbed and can have a laxative effect.
✅They come in small, oval, easy to swallow tablets - unlike those huge horse tablets that are a choking hazard.
✅It is free from calcium. Magnesium helps the muscles relax, whilst calcium has the opposite effect (contraction). This is not what you want when you're trying to relax!
✅Free from any artificial colours or sweeteners, dairy, yeast, gluten or sugar.

Do you dread one week each month? Many women are caught in a cycle of disrupted hormones, and the terrible side effects. When your hormones are working well, you’ll be mostly happy and life will be sweet. When hormones are out of balance, they can cause emotional and physical chaos and lead to a whole range of symptoms that can interfere with your day-to-day life. 🙎‍♀️

Oestrogen and progesterone need to be balanced with each other, but when oestrogen rises and progesterone drops, a whole range of hormonal issues can occur. The symptoms will be worst in the week before menstruation begins. 🩸

Common symptoms include low mood, anxiety, anger, fluid retention, sore breasts, poor quality sleep, food cravings, painful or heavy menstrual bleeding.

If you’re a lover of risotto but want to look after your waist line, this quinoa chicken risotto recipe is for you! Using quinoa instead of rice, makes this risotto higher in protein and B vitamins than traditional risotto. This recipe is easy to make and you can easily swap the vegetables to suit what you have in your fridge. 😋

Ingredients:
🍗500 g chicken breast, trimmed
🌊4 cups water
🥥1 tbsp coconut or olive oil
🧄4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
🥕4 medium carrots, peeled and grated
🎃200 g pumpkin, skin removed and grated
🍚cup quinoa
🥄1 tsp Tasmanian Smoky Kelp powder
🌿½ cup finely chopped basil
🧀¾ cup finely grated parmesan (optional)
🧂Black pepper and salt to taste

Method:
1️⃣Poach the chicken breast by bringing 4 cups of water to the boil in a saucepan, then placing the chicken breast in the water – allowing it to come to a simmer before turning the heat off. Cover for 30 minutes to cook through.
2️⃣Once chicken is poached, remove from water and allow to cool slightly. Keep the water to use as a stock to cook the quinoa.
In a large saucepan, heat oil and lightly sauté the garlic for 1 minute. Add carrots and pumpkin and sauté for about 5 minutes.
3️⃣Add 2 cups of stock and the quinoa to the saucepan with the veggies and bring to the boil. Cook for about 15 minutes with the lid on, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed.

Cognitive ability or ‘having all your marbles’ is a common factor that most people consider vital in order to have a good quality of life. 🧠

Many people would have heard a loved one say that they would rather die than lose their mental function and be stuck in an otherwise healthy body. So many people suffer from poor memory and/or anxiety and depression, that it is wise to follow nutritional principles to optimise your brain function and to preserve your brain cells. 🤗

It is always best to eat seasonal fruit and vegetables if you can. The produce that you buy out of season has either been kept in storage for months, imported from overseas or grown in a hot house. This not only effects the flavour, but the nutrient content also. Freshly farmed produce is packed full of amazing vitamins and minerals. These nutrients diminish over time, so it is always best to buy produce that is in season. It is also much cheaper to do so, as the farmers have a large abundance of the produce and can afford to sell it at a lower price. Try incorporating these fruit and vegetables into your diet this Autumn. 🤗🍁🍂
