🍏 LDL is not “bad.”

But it can become risky when the bigger environment is not healthy.

LDL is a transport particle.

Its job is to carry cholesterol through the bloodstream to tissues that need it, including the adrenals, ovaries, te**es, skin, and cells involved in repair and normal turnover.

So LDL is not automatically the enemy.

The question is:
What is happening to it?

LDL usually starts as VLDL, made by the liver.

VLDL carries triglycerides, drops them off to tissues, then becomes IDL, and eventually LDL.

By the time it becomes LDL, it is carrying mostly cholesterol.

That cholesterol can be used by the body, or the remaining LDL can be cleared by the liver through LDL receptors.

And this is where the pattern matters.

LDL clearance can be affected by thyroid function, oestrogen levels, liver function, inflammation, insulin resistance, genetics, and metabolic stress.

So when LDL is high, I do not just ask:
“How do we lower it?”

I ask:
Why is it high?
Is the thyroid involved?
Is insulin resistance present?
Is inflammation damaging the blood vessels?
Is the liver clearing it properly?
Is oestrogen low?
Is ApoB or lipoprotein(a) elevated?

Because LDL becomes more concerning when particles are smaller, denser, oxidised, and moving through inflamed or damaged blood vessels.

This is why LDL should never be read alone.

It needs context.

HDL, triglycerides, ApoB, lipoprotein(a), glucose, insulin, thyroid markers, liver markers, hs-CRP, homocysteine, blood pressure, and symptoms all matter.

LDL is information.
Not something to fear.
Not something to ignore.

Comment LDL if you want me to break down what can drive it high.

🍏 Gentle reminder, today is the last day to order if you want everything ready before we start on 4th June.

I usually recommend having your products before the program begins, so you can get familiar with them, ease in properly, and not feel like you’re starting behind.

Because this is not about rushing into another program and hoping you figure it out.

You’ll receive a soft copy of the 10-Day Detox booklet, which walks you through the structure, meals, rhythm, and what to expect over the 10 days.

The booklet is there to help you feel clear before you begin.

What to have.

What to prepare.

How the days work.

What the reset is actually designed to support.

And how to move through it without overthinking every step.

The Detox is the first program.

It’s a short, structured 10-day reset designed to help reduce the load, support digestion, settle cravings, improve your food rhythm, and give your body a cleaner starting point.

Then, some people choose to continue into the Body Reset if they want more structure, accountability, and support afterwards.

But we take it step by step.

First, the 10 days.

First, the reset.

First, helping your body feel supported again.

If you’ve been thinking about joining, today is the day to get organised so you’re not starting behind on Day 1.

Comment RESET or DM me and I’ll send you the details 💚

And to those who have already commented or messaged me in the last few days, please check your DMs, I’ve been replying personally and don’t want you to miss the info.

🍏 Hashimoto’s is not simply a “slow thyroid.”

It is an autoimmune thyroid condition, which means the immune system is part of the picture.

So when someone has fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, constipation, puffiness, low mood, hair shedding, cold hands and feet, or that heavy “I don’t feel like myself” feeling…

I do not only ask, “What is the TSH?”

I ask:

What is irritating the immune system?
What is happening in the gut?
Is blood sugar stable?
Are nutrients being absorbed?
Is the liver under load?
Is stress keeping the nervous system switched on?
Is inflammation quietly building in the background?

Because your thyroid does not work in isolation.

It is influenced by the gut, immune system, liver, hormones, nutrients, blood sugar, sleep, stress, and recovery.

This is why a proper 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗧 can be so powerful.

Not because it “cures” Hashimoto’s.

But because it helps reduce the daily load on the body, supports digestion, stabilises blood sugar, nourishes detox pathways, and gives the immune system less to react to.

My June RESET starts 2nd June.

If your body feels inflamed, sluggish, puffy, foggy, exhausted, or like it is asking for a cleaner baseline…

Comment RESET and I’ll send you the details.

🍏 Last 2 days to join the June RESET / Detox Program, starting Monday 1st.

If your body has been feeling tired, bloated, foggy, puffy, heavy, or stuck in cravings, it may be tempting to think:

“I just need more willpower.”

But often, the body is not asking for more pressure.

It is asking for less load.

Less dietary chaos.
Less blood sugar swinging.
Less digestive overwhelm.
Less inflammatory load.
Less stress on the system.
More structure.
More hydration.
More nourishment.
More rhythm.

That is the intention behind my revamped 10-Day RESET / Detox Program.

It is a short, structured reset designed to help you come back to the basics:

✅ simple wholefood meals
✅ hydration
✅ daily nutrition support
✅ gentle movement
✅ reducing cravings
✅ supporting digestion
✅ creating a cleaner starting point

Not extreme.
Not complicated.
Not another thing to “fail” at.

Just 10 days of structure, support, and a chance to notice how your body responds when the daily noise is lowered.

This program can be a helpful starting point if you are wanting to support:

• energy
• digestion
• bloating
• cravings
• food habits
• hydration
• weight management foundations
• feeling more in rhythm with your body again

Of course, every body is different, and individual results vary.

This is not a replacement for medical care, and if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have diabetes, a history of eating disorders, significant medical conditions, or are on regular medication, please check with your own health practitioner before starting any structured reset.

The June round starts Monday 1st.

If you’d like the details, send me a DM with RESET and I’ll send them through 💚

🍏 CHOLESTEROL is not the villain.

But it does need context.

Most people hear “cholesterol” and immediately think heart disease.

But cholesterol helps make cell membranes, steroid hormones, bile, vitamin D, and supports tissue repair and immune signalling.

So when cholesterol is high, I don’t just ask, “How do we lower it?”

I ask:

Why is the body changing cholesterol production, absorption, transport, or clearance?

Because high cholesterol may be linked with thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, liver stress, bile flow issues, menopause, inflammation, genetics, or poor clearance.

And low cholesterol can matter too.

It may reflect poor intake, poor absorption, liver dysfunction, hyperthyroid patterns, chronic inflammation, or nutrient issues.

This is why total cholesterol should never be read alone.

Your lipid panel needs to be interpreted alongside HDL, LDL, triglycerides, VLDL, ApoB, lipoprotein(a), glucose, insulin, thyroid markers, liver markers, and inflammatory markers.

Because cholesterol is not “good” or “bad” in isolation.

It is information.

And in autoimmune and complex fatigue cases, that information can help us understand the bigger pattern across the gut, liver, thyroid, hormones, metabolism, and immune system.

The question is not just:

“Is your cholesterol high?”

The better question is:

“What is your body trying to show us?”

Comment LIPIDS if you want me to break down the key lipid markers next.

🍏 Save this for the hard days.

Because they do happen.

The days where you wake up tired before the day has even started.

The days where your brain feels slow, your body feels unfamiliar, your patience is thin, and you wonder where the old version of you went.

The days where you think, “Am I losing it?”

You’re not.

But your body is changing, and for many people, nobody has explained that properly.

Peri/menopause can affect sleep, mood, memory, metabolism, inflammation, joints, gut function, blood sugar, libido, confidence, and the way your nervous system responds to stress.

So no, it is not “just hot flushes.”

And no, it is not just you being dramatic, lazy, moody, anxious, or difficult.

Sometimes this season strips away the ability to keep pushing through things that were already costing you too much.

The overgiving.
The people pleasing.
The running on caffeine and willpower.
The pretending you’re fine when you’re not.
The ignoring of symptoms because everyone else needs something from you.

Maybe menopause is not the end of you.

Maybe it is the part of life where your body finally says:

Enough.

Not in a dramatic way.

In a biologically inconvenient, deeply honest, impossible-to-ignore way.

And when we listen properly, there is so much we can support.

Sleep.
Blood sugar.
Inflammation.
Gut health.
Hormones.
Thyroid function.
Nervous system regulation.
Muscle.
Bone.
Energy.

So on the hard days, please remember this:

You are not becoming less valuable.

You are becoming harder to ignore, even to yourself.

Comment BALANCE if this season feels confusing and you want a clearer way through.

🍏 CHLORIDE is often overlooked because sodium gets all the attention.

But chloride is one of sodium’s key partners, helping your body regulate fluid balance, blood pressure, stomach acid, kidney function, and acid, base balance.

So when chloride is low, high, borderline, or simply does not match the symptoms in front of me, I do not look at it in isolation.

I ask, “What is this marker trying to show us about regulation?”

Because chloride can give us clues about hydration, gut losses, kidney function, stomach acid production, breathing patterns, medication effects, metabolic stress, and inflammation.

And in complex fatigue cases, those clues matter.

Not because chloride diagnoses autoimmunity.
It does not.

But because fatigue, brain fog, muscle weakness, dizziness, poor digestion, reflux, bloating, nausea, headaches, poor recovery, and feeling “off” despite normal bloodwork can all point to deeper regulation issues.

Sometimes, chloride is pointing us toward hydration.
Sometimes the gut.
Sometimes the kidneys.
Sometimes acid, base balance.
Sometimes low stomach acid.
And sometimes it is one small part of a much bigger inflammatory picture.

Your bloodwork is not just a list of numbers.

It is a map of how your body is coping.

Comment MAP if you want more posts breaking down the markers that are often overlooked.

🍏 And no, it does not always mean you suddenly lost discipline.

For many people, weight starts changing even when food, movement and routines have not changed dramatically.

That is because the body underneath the strategy has changed.

As oestrogen and progesterone fluctuate, your body can become more sensitive to blood sugar swings, stress hormones, poor sleep, inflammation and insulin changes.

So the old advice of “just eat less and move more” often misses the point.

If cortisol is high, sleep is broken, muscle mass is dropping, insulin sensitivity is changing, and your nervous system is running on stress signals, then simply cutting calories or doing more cardio may not give you the result you were promised.

In fact, for some people, it can make things worse.

More restriction can increase cravings.
More fasting can destabilise blood sugar.
More cardio can add stress to an already under-recovered body.
Less food can mean less protein, fewer minerals, poorer recovery, and more muscle loss.

This is why I look at peri/menopause weight changes through a systems lens:

Blood sugar.
Insulin.
Cortisol.
Thyroid function.
Inflammation.
Sleep.
Muscle mass.
Gut health.
Hormone metabolism.

This is not failure. It is physiology.

But the strategy that worked in your 30s may not be the strategy your body needs now.

In this phase, the goal is not to punish the midsection.

It is to rebuild metabolic resilience.

That means strength training, adequate protein, stable blood sugar, proper recovery, mineral support, better sleep rhythms, and understanding what your hormones are actually trying to tell you.

Comment BALANCE if you’re done fighting your peri/menopausal body with methods that no longer work.

21/05/2026

🍏 Calorie counting. Intermittent fasting. More cardio. Eating less. Training harder.

These are the strategies so many people reach for when weight starts changing in peri/menopause.

And I understand why.

They may have worked before.

But then suddenly, the same body that used to respond starts doing something completely different.

The waist changes.
The scale creeps up.
Sleep becomes unpredictable.
Cravings increase.
Recovery slows down.

And you start thinking, “What am I doing wrong?”

But here’s what is often missed.

Menopause weight gain is not just a calorie problem.

When oestrogen fluctuates and then declines, it can affect insulin sensitivity, abdominal fat storage, muscle mass, inflammation, sleep quality, stress tolerance, appetite signals and how efficiently your body uses energy.

So fasting harder can backfire if your blood sugar is unstable.

More cardio can backfire if your nervous system is already under stress.

Eating less can backfire if your body needs protein, minerals and fuel to protect muscle, thyroid function and recovery.

And cutting carbs too aggressively can worsen sleep, cravings, training tolerance and cortisol patterns in some people.

This is why I don’t look at menopausal weight gain as a simple “eat less, move more” issue.

I ask:

How is your sleep?
What is your blood sugar doing?
Are you eating enough protein?
Are you building or losing muscle?
Is inflammation high?
What is your thyroid doing?
Are you under-recovered?
Is your gut contributing to immune activation?

Because in peri/menopause, the goal is not to punish your body into submission.

The goal is to rebuild metabolic safety.

More strength.
More protein.
More stable blood sugar.
More recovery.
More minerals.
More sleep support.
More attention to hormones, gut, thyroid, inflammation and stress.

You have to understand that the strategy that worked in a different hormonal phase may no longer be the right strategy now.

Comment BALANCE if you’re done fighting your body with methods that no longer work.

🍏 One of the most common things I see in practice?

People arriving with a bag full of supplements.

A probiotic someone recommended.
Magnesium for sleep.
Ashwagandha for stress.
Berberine for blood sugar.
Collagen for gut health.
Turmeric for inflammation.

A greens powder.
A liver support formula.
And sometimes several things they can’t even remember why they started taking.

And yet they’re still exhausted.
Still bloated.
Still craving sugar.
Still waking at 3 AM.
Still dealing with brain fog, joint pain, and symptoms that no one has properly explained.

I understand how this happens.
When you feel unwell, it is easy to go down the rabbit hole.
You read the blogs.
Listen to the podcasts.
Watch the reels.

And before long, you’re taking ten different supplements without a clear plan.
Sometimes supplements are exactly what is needed.
But supplements are meant to support the body, not compensate for foundations that have been overlooked.

If your blood sugar is unstable, your digestion is compromised, your sleep is fragmented, your stress is high, and your nutrition is inconsistent, no supplement stack will do the heavy lifting on its own.

This is why I always come back to the basics:

🍏 Nourishing the body with real food
🍏 Prioritising adequate protein
🍏 Supporting digestion and bowel function
🍏 Stabilising blood sugar
🍏 Improving sleep
🍏 Reducing the burden on the body

Once we understand what your body is asking for, targeted supplements can be a powerful part of the plan.

The key is not taking more.
It is taking the right supplements, for the right reasons, at the right time.

The goal is to understand what your body actually needs.
You don’t need another random supplement.
You need a plan.

If this sounds familiar, tonight’s Health Reset Event is for you.

🍏 Autoimmune disease changes the rules too, so ...

Your strategy needs to change too.

If you’re living with an autoimmune condition, whether it’s Hashimoto’s, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, or inflammatory bowel disease, you’ve probably already realised one important truth:

What you eat matters.

Nutrition will not “cure” autoimmunity.

But it can have a profound impact on inflammation, gut integrity, immune balance, energy, and symptom severity.

And for many people, food is one of the most powerful levers we have.

That is why the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) can be such a valuable tool.

By removing common dietary triggers and focusing on nutrient-dense whole foods, many people notice:

✨ Less bloating
✨ More stable energy
✨ Fewer aches and pains
✨ Improved digestion
✨ Better sleep
✨ Clearer thinking

But let’s be honest.

AIP can feel overwhelming.
It is highly restrictive.
It can be difficult to follow socially.

And for someone who is already exhausted, planning every meal can feel like another full-time job.

This is why, in my 5R Program, we often use a modified AIP approach.

We focus on the principles that matter most:

🍏 Removing the foods most likely to aggravate inflammation
🍏 Prioritising adequate protein
🍏 Increasing colourful, nutrient-dense foods
🍏 Supporting gut health and digestion
🍏 Stabilising blood sugar
🍏 Making the plan realistic and sustainable

Because the best nutrition plan is not the one that looks perfect on paper.
It is the one you can actually follow.
Autoimmune healing is rarely about doing everything perfectly.
It is about reducing the burden on the immune system and giving your body the raw materials it needs to repair.

If you’re navigating autoimmunity and wondering where to start, join me for my upcoming Health Reset Event.

We’ll explore simple, practical ways to support your health through nutrition and lifestyle, and how a structured reset can help you get started without feeling overwhelmed.

DM me RESET or comment RESET and I’ll send you the details. 💚
