Temporary pause on grant giving - March 2026

Following careful consideration, our Board of Trustees has taken the strategic decision to temporarily pause our grant giving programme until later this year.

During this period, the Board will undertake a review of the effectiveness of our grant-making to ensure that the funding we award delivers the greatest possible impact for the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

As a responsible charity, it is important that we periodically reflect on our approach to ensure our resources are used in the most effective and equitable way.

While this review is underway, we will not be accepting any new grant applications or awarding new grants. We understand this may be disappointing and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Organisations seeking funding in the meantime may wish to explore alternative sources, including:

• Cornwall Community Foundation
• Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum

We will provide further updates once our review has concluded and look forward to sharing more information about the future direction of our grant-making later this year.

Such a pleasure to have worked with Anna Public Leaders Appointments.

Complete professionalism and fully personalised support all the way through the process of appointing a new Chair.

We can highly recommend Anna for all your recruitment needs.

Huge congratulations to Professor Emma Bland on her appointment as Chair of Duchy Health Charity, succeeding Dr Barbara Vann.

Emma brings deep experience in health, wellbeing and research, having been a founding member of the European Centre for Environment and Human Health and served as Associate Professor of Environment, Health and Wellbeing at the University of Exeter Medical School. Over 20+ years she has worked collaboratively across voluntary and community sectors in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, shaping how research informs practice locally and regionally.

Barbara served as Chair for over 10 years and made a phenomenal commitment and to the Charity’s mission. Her passion for inter-professional collaboration, her leadership in establishing school-based Integrated Health and Wellbeing Centres across Cornwall, and her unwavering advocacy for children’s and community wellbeing have made a lasting impact.

It was a real honour to be invited to work with the charity to lead the search and appointment, and I’m excited to see how the Charity continues to grow and thrive under Emma’s leadership.

Here’s to the next chapter of purpose-driven impact in health and wellbeing! 💙

Keep your team (and your business) moving! 🦴💪

Running a small business in Cornwall is hard enough without the impact of back pain or MSK issues causing staff absences.

We know that micro-businesses face different challenges than big companies. That’s why MSKAware is hosting workshops across the county to help you create a workplace that promotes physical health and supports early intervention.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll walk away understanding the specific risks in your organisation and how to proactively support your staff so they can stay in work and stay healthy.

Choose your nearest session (14:00 - 17:00):

🗓️ March 17 - Liskeard (Liskerrett Community Centre)
🗓️ March 18 - Summercourt (Venton Conference Centre)
🗓️ March 31 - Penzance (Pulse, Heamoor)
