“I should know this by now.”
“Everyone else seems to handle this better than me.”
“What if they find out I’m not as good as they think?”

If you’ve had any of these thoughts — congratulations. You’re a veterinarian.

Imposter syndrome isn’t a bug in your operating system. It’s a feature of being someone who cares deeply about doing excellent work.

But here’s what most people don’t tell you:

Imposter syndrome isn’t actually about competence. It’s about your Judge Saboteur exploiting your best qualities against you.

Your empathy? The Judge turns it into “you should give more.”
Your drive? The Judge turns it into “you’re not doing enough.”
Your precision? The Judge turns it into “one mistake and the world will know you’re a fraud.”

When you muzzle the Judge, you don’t lose those gifts. You FREE them.

That’s the shift I teach in my “Mental Fitness Training for Vet Med” program — and it’s why veterinary professionals who go through it don’t just feel better. They practice better.

I presented this exact topic at the 2026 Texas VMA. The response was overwhelming — because every single person in that room recognized themselves.

You’re not an imposter. You’re a professional whose strengths are being hijacked.

Let’s fix that. DM me for a free 1:1 strategy session, or to discuss having this presentation for your group.

Perfectionism. People-pleasing. Over-achieving. Sound familiar?

These aren't just personality quirks — they're self-sabotage patterns that contribute to burnout in veterinary professionals.

Want to do something about it?
I'm hosting a FREE interactive workshop where you'll:
🔍 Identify your unique self-sabotage profile
🧠 Examine why your brain defaults to these stress responses
🔧 Apply a powerful technique to re-wire how you handle pressure
💬 Transform the way you approach difficult clients and team dynamics

In my 35 years as a DVM I've seen how these patterns steal our joy, our energy, and our effectiveness. As a certified mental fitness coach, I'll bring you tools to take your power back from your Saboteurs.

Details:
📅 Wednesday, April 29th

Let’s talk about the numbers nobody wants to look at:

→ Veterinarians die by su***de at 3-5x the rate of the general population
→ 30-40% of DVMs report clinical burnout
→ Nearly 50% of veterinary technicians leave the profession
→ The annual cost of burnout to the veterinary industry: $1.93 BILLION

We keep talking about this crisis. We keep hosting wellness panels. We keep telling each other to “practice self-care.”

And the numbers aren’t moving.

Here’s why: We’re treating symptoms, not root causes.

The root cause isn’t the long hours or the difficult clients. It’s the invisible mental patterns — the Saboteurs — that turn normal workplace stress into chronic suffering.

The Perfectionist who won’t let you go home until every chart is perfect.
The Pleaser who says yes to every add-on appointment.
The Judge who replays your mistakes at 2 AM.

These aren’t character flaws. They’re trainable patterns. And weakening them is a skill, not a wish.

My RACE-approved “Mental Fitness Training for Vet Med” program teaches that skill — with 14 hours of CE credit and tools you’ll actually use.

Because our profession deserves more than awareness. It deserves a solution.

Unpopular opinion: “Practice more self-care” is terrible burnout advice for veterinarians.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m not against bubble baths and boundaries. But after 35 years in this profession, I can tell you:

You cannot yoga your way out of a brain that’s wired for self-sabotage.

Here’s what I mean:

Your Perfectionist Saboteur doesn’t care that you meditated this morning. It will still make you rewrite that discharge summary three times.

Your Pleaser Saboteur doesn’t care that you set a boundary last week. It will still make you feel guilty for saying no to that emergency add-on.

Your Judge doesn’t care that you went to therapy. It will still wake you up at 3 AM to remind you of the case you lost six months ago.

Self-care treats the exhaustion. Mental fitness training treats the SOURCE.

The difference? Self-care helps you recover AFTER your Saboteurs drain you. Mental fitness helps you INTERCEPT them before they take over.

That’s what Positive Intelligence does. And that’s what my RACE-approved program — the only one of its kind in the country — teaches veterinary professionals to do, in real time, during real clinical days.

14 hours of CE credit. Tools that work at 3 AM, not just in a seminar room.

I used to need 48 hours to recover from a really horrific day at work.

A patient I couldn’t save. A client interaction that left me gutted. A case where I second-guessed every decision I made.

I’d go home, replay it on a loop, lose sleep, snap at the people I love, and show up for my next shift already depleted.

Sound familiar?

Today, my recovery time is about 30 minutes.

Not because the job got easier. Not because I stopped caring. Not because I learned some magic trick at a wellness seminar.

It’s because I learned to identify the mental patterns — the Saboteurs — that were hijacking my brain after every hard shift. The Judge. The Hyper-Achiever. The Pleaser.

Once I could SEE them, I could STOP them.

That’s what Positive Intelligence training does. And it’s what I now teach other veterinary professionals through my RACE-approved “Mental Fitness Training for Vet Med” program.

14 hours of CE credit. 8 weeks of guided practice. A lifetime of better days.

Want to know your Saboteurs? DM me for a free 1:1 deep dive… and a plan!

Last Friday: Elbows-deep in an emergency splenectomy.

This Monday: Coaching a stressed out DVM through her first difficult conversation with an underperforming associate.

I don’t just teach stress resilience. I live it. Every single week.

And honestly? That matters.

Because when I tell you that the Positive Intelligence tools work during a 14-hour ER shift — I’m not guessing. I use them every day.

When I tell you the self-command exercise takes 60 seconds and actually calms your nervous system between appointments — I did it Thursday between 2 sewer-mouth dentals.

When I say your Saboteurs are loudest when you’re exhausted, understaffed, and three patients behind — I know, because I live there.

This is what makes my RACE-approved “Mental Fitness Training for Vet Med” program different from every other wellness offering:

It was built BY a veterinarian, FOR veterinarians.
Not adapted from corporate coaching.
Not borrowed from another profession.
Not delivered by someone who left clinical practice years ago.

I’m still in it. And I’m still using these tools every day.

35 years in ER and GP. Still practicing. Still coaching. Still proving these tools work. DM me to learn how.
